Whatever happened to those awesome games where you use cool mechs that transform into super-cool vehicles?

I've loved those vehicles forever.

I really like the Japanese ones.

This *Gundam Unicorn* game was one of the first ones I bought for the PS3, and it was only available in Japanese.

I thought it was a really good game—I'd rate it somewhere between an 8.2 and an 8.7.

Controlling the Gundam and other vehicles was difficult; it's the only game I recall that required different hand positions to operate them properly. I'm not sure how I managed it, but I learned the controls and actually finished the game without knowing any Japanese.

Xenoblade have cool Vehicules too.

This game is underrated; when you play it, you find great gameplay and gore, plus the mechs have really good designs.

Technically you're in a frame-unit, or armored suit, the but results are the same as Armored Core.

Not great transformation, but you do get mode-switching in Metal Wolf.

Shame the good Transformers War for Cybertron & Fall of Cybertron games go delisted though, they were great.

Not enough mech games though.

Technically mechs in Armored Core don't transform but you have lot of customization options.

Also in my opinion Armored Core VI has one of the best Mecha combat.

I always found it stupid that the Horizon franchise never had any Mechs. Such a perfect opportunity
Give Aloy a badass mech to fight .... animal mechs

Now that you mention it, I miss Xenogear, Omega boost, Magic knight ray earth, Future cop LAPD,and OG Gundam game on Ps1.

While we're on the subject, I also have to highlight *Lost Planet*;

I rented it and finished it.

I played the demo and was disappointed by the multiplayer... but I played through the story, and it was good.

Even though I always hated the MT Framework... I did like the fire, explosion, and smoke effects.

The game feels like a big-budget Japanese movie featuring kaiju and the kind of particle effects typical of that genre. I'm on the lookout for the PS3 version... Plus, Luka is one of the cutest characters in the series.
