That's quite a large calibre bullet. If they didn't have the sense to move then it's probably best for all of us that they diedGeneralIroh said:I out sniped a couple of snipers with the carl gustav rocket launcher.![]()

BC2 has a killcam and regenerating health, BC1 had neither! in some ways BC2 is more like PC, in others, it's more console. i was playing BC1 last night and sat an entire game in a bush on ascension, sniping the attackers, and they had no idea where i was. their fault. not that half the people in BC2 care about the killcam anyway...Broadbandito said:how does this game feel rushed?! And consolized? :lol This game is a fuckin console game. BC1 obviously never hit pc but bc 2 will, bc is more of a CONSOLE bf then anything. :lol

PC for better gfx and dedicated severs (and prone?).
360 so I can play with all my homies!

yeah, the spot on ascension, they'll know exactly where you are, since there's only one possibility.PjotrStroganov said:Well, a killcam won't help others anyway if you are sniping from behind a generic bush.![]()
Depends on the level of course.
yeah it promotes revenge snipers, which means more people playing recon. i've had lots of sniper duels without killcams in BC1! plus, sometimes when the person who killed you is killed, the killcam shows a completely unrelated enemy, giving away their position basically for free.endlessflood said:I didn't mind the killcam at all. When I was sniping I quite liked the thought that people knew where I was and might be coming after me, it added a little tension. All it seemed to do was promote sniper duels, and let's be honest, those are brilliant. There's no better moment than getting a sniper in your scope, knowing that his weapon is pointed right back at you and you have only a split second before he puts a bullet through your head. Awesome.
I love it when I play as a defensive sniper and I can see that half of the attacking team is more worried about taking me out than attacking the objectives, that's pretty much me doing my job. Conversely in attack it's a good thing if after a sniper takes you out and you know where they are, you respawn as recon and remove that threat. Then it comes down to which side does the better job: is the defensive sniper so good that they keep racking up the kills and enrage more attackers into respawning as recons, or is the first attacker who respawns as recon good enough to take out the threat immediately? Either way nobody gets a free ride. The Faceless Master said:yeah it promotes revenge snipers, which means more people playing recon. i've had lots of sniper duels without killcams in BC1! plus, sometimes when the person who killed you is killed, the killcam shows a completely unrelated enemy, giving away their position basically for free.
Since the Beta has finished and I have no BFBC2 to oocupy my spare time, I've been reviewing some of the devs' twitter updates. On 15 Dec Demize99 posted "Mmmmmmm sexy new weapon skins. **drool**" so I'm assuming that if they redid the weapons skins they would have done the scopes as well. I know twitter posts are frowned upon but when it's one of the devs it's surely worth mentioning.UnluckyKate said:Any words on the Agoc scope being fixed ? It looked like shit when fireing it.

I love steam so this is great news though i kinda want a retail box with this one... =/OfficialBFBC2
RT @L_Twin: Guys/girls, we're working together with Valve to get a BFBC2 pre-order program going on Steam, hope we can announce this soon.
According to Gamestop, if you Pre-Order the game on PC with them, you get access to the Beta, which starts January 28, ends February 25. Afaik, it's a pre-order deal only. Maybe there will be open beta invitations, but I kind of doubt it, since it's EA we're talking about here.Dina said:I can't wait for the PC beta. Any releasedate for the pc-beta known yet?

Edit: I'm pretty sure if it's a pre-order deal only, it'll work on both Steam and EA Store.
It's only for the Digital Version of the game (from GameStop):Shawsie64 said:I hope Australians dont get left out =/

Bullets do drop in BFBC2. There's no windage though.macfoshizzle said:though i wish they have real bullet ballistics that drops.

its completely off on hardcore mode though. though i wish they have real bullet ballistics that drops.
AltogetherAndrews said:I'm tempted to call that beta Shooter of the Year 2009. Took a while to get used to it, and some games were just painful due to people spending more time exploiting level up tricks than actually playing the game, but when it worked it really worked. It's also nice with a beta that actually lets you into games, and fast.
recklessmind said:The bullets drop.
Actually... in this thread the game has gotten criticism for the bullet drop being too exaggerated.
I don't agree, but I only used a couple rifles for a little while... maybe it's worse in some weapons.
So glad to have HC mode... that is the best news ever.

Here's a high res youtube vid of sniping in BFBC2, shows the bullet drop very clearly:drizzle said:There was a .GIF made from one of the gameplay videos that show a sniper scope firing at another sniper, and you can clearly see the bullet both traveling and falling. I can't find the GIF nor the video of it.
the bullets obey the laws of gravity and drop as they travel, so you have to aim above your target. having a big orange triangle above the opponent's head does make it easier to line up the shot though! most of those shots were pretty far away (note the marksman bonus for distance) so a shot from a closer range would need less compensation for drop.evlcookie said:What's with the sniping? You don't even have to aim at the person, just the triangle on top of them? That's a little bit .. odd
well, there's always hardcore rules...Teknopathetic said:Sniping is pretty easy mode. Or at least it was in the beta. The triangle above the head as well as the tracer makes it incredibly easy to calculate the bullet drop, instead of actually gradually becoming more skilled and accurate with a one shot kill weapon.
