Whoever posted Heavyweights and Blank Check, I love you! I have both on DVD and watch them so many times. So good childhood memories.

I've seen it so many damned times and yet every time it comes on TV I find myself entranced; only to awaken at the credits and ask "WHY THE HELL DID I WATCH THIS AGAIN?!"

Same thing with this one:

Ok people don't understand what a bad movie is.

Anyone can think a movie was horrible. I think terminator salvation was a piece of shit but someone else might think its wonderful.

If something isn't the greatest movie of all time it doesn't make it automatically bad. Even if something's average it's still not bad.

But anyway, my contribution:

I think I saw this movie 5-6 times in the theater. No, I'm not lying. And no, I'm not ashamed!
This is very underrated film. Very funny.
I don't think most people would consider this a bad movie though.

Awesome, awesome film. One of my all time favorites.

The fearless Vampire Killers

I know this one does have a certain following but I still think its considered bad. Especially in the US due to the butchered US version.

I love the atmosphere in this one. Snowy Eastern Europe, the inn, the castle. And the quirky humor. Nothing to burst out laughing, but very soothing.

And it has gorgeous Sharon Tate!

I also love the Super Mario Bros. movie.

If that's a bad movie, then it's a bad movie I deeply love.

....but it's not a bad movie. It's an awesome movie.

And I thought Cable Guy was pushing it (hence my disclaimer when I posted).

I do note (happily) that those who love Speed Racer know that it is not a bad movie.

There are some movies that you know are bad but you just can't help yourself. Here are two that stick out in my mind.

If I remember correctly, Damon Wayans (that's the one, right?) was on the set for a couple of days, then bolted to do Requiem for a Dream.

And someone mentioned UHF in this thread? WTF is wrong with you people. YOU SO STUPID!

I watched SST the other day OnDemand and I have to agree, it's a pretty fucking BAD movie. But then again, I still like it.

Would you like to learn more?

BTW:

"Bad" means critically shit on films if I'm understanding the basic meaning.

So Clerks, etc should not be in here.

I agree the films you pick should be something that the world considers shit as a consensus. A few of the movies mentioned were hits or actually pretty good. Just my opinion...but whatever

Demolition Man

I'm sure there are plenty of others, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
I think you're confused, this thread isn't for the greatest and ultimate movie of all time and a film that will never be topped by anyone ever anywhere.

Dinner and dancing at Taco Bell?

I have to admit, the first 3/4 of this movie is fucking hilarious.

The last bit (which they've admitted in interviews and commentary was not written when filming started and even throughout filming they still didn't have an ending) was shit.

I've watched this movie so many times it isn't funny.

Yes it is :lol

So what are we gunna name the sled?
How about... "Tallulah?"
Tallulah! Hahaha! Tallulah! Sounds like a 2 dollar hooker! Where you come up with that?
Hey, you idiot. That's my mother's name.

Both Crank movies.

..and another film with Statham and Jet Li in it. I forgot what it was called, but it had time traveling and the String Theory in it.

I'd say something similar for their sitcom.

I never got a chance to watch it. An HBO version probably would have been better off.

It could have been my love of both rapper individually that made me obsess over the film and rewatch it dozens of times over a 2 year span as well.

It's called The One

Edit: Beaten but I have confidence!

Best bad movie this decade? I say Gigli, which I watch a lot, or the Room, which I watch a lot.

A lot of people used to think Freddy Got Fingered was complete shit but for the past couple of years, it is being praised as this great misunderstood avant-comedy and I saw it in theaters five times (and it seems like the only critic to call it on its awesomeness is my favorite critic AO Scott):

Rip Torn is fearless in this. Doesn't fazes him one iota that he's in one of the worst movies of all time. Speaking of good bad Rip Torn movies, he directed Whoopi Goldberg in the movie The Telephone (1988), where Whoopi makes phone calls from her apartment the entire movie.

Whoopi Goldberg took director Rip Torn and the film's producers to court to prevent the film's release due to its poor quality. She lost.

Ok wtf...
Red Dawn, Fifth Element and Clerks are not bad movies.

Also...Batman Forever is not a bad movie...it is the WORST movie.

I wouldn't even consider this a bad movie, taking into account the intended audience, it's really good, and the soundtrack is pretty cool.

I WANT BLU-RAY
I really want that poster now.

Quite possibly the best bad movie ever made. An absolute MUST HAVE on bluray if you don't own it already (the PQ is outstanding)

I agree. Too many of these films were (a) successful at the box office and (b) well-received by critics.

We're looking for BAD movies, ones that upset normal folk whenever they're on television.

Man, I wanted to see ARENA so badly when I was a kid. I never worked up the kahkones to rent it though.

One of my all-time favourite bad films has to be Bio Dome;

bio-dome.jpg

Such an bad movie (well with Paulie Shore & Stephen Baldwin, that was always a given) filled with awful 'jokes' and some truly cringe-worthy dialogue between Baldwin & Shore, nevertheless whenever I see it on TV I always make time to re-watch it and despite it's glaring flaws it still manages to make me smile and occasionally makes me laugh.

Oh right. I forgot, Halle Berry's tits are in this movie.

Yeah, no. This is not a bad movie. Pretty sure it's only considered bad in the US if that's the case. How did they "butcher it"?

Like you said, it really nails the atmosphere, probably better than any other vampire movie I've seen.

Now a bad movie in that same genre would be Transylvania 6-5000, and I think I love that movie. It's really, really terrible. Starring the Goldblum and Cosmo Kramer.

And to whoever thought Natural Born Killers is considered bad, you're wrong. No need to be ashamed about that one. :P

If those are bad movies, what do you consider good? You might not "get" Starship Troopers, but Fifth Element? :/
