Bands you have an irrational hate-on for?

I know I'm not alone in this, but is there a band out there you just hate? You can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but just seeing them or hearing them makes you want to run for cover.

For me that's INXS. Ever since I was a kid I just fucking couldn't stand their music or their music videos, how they were a thing eludes me to this day. If one of their songs appears in a playlist I'm listening to I literally will not listen to it again so that I can avoid them.

I think it's probably because of the lead singer, he just looks like the biggest douchelord of all time.

Do you guys have any bands like that? Who are they? Do you know why?

I think I'm rather extremely rational about my hate for most musical acts, but I'm a hardass with clear ideas about my preferences with musical aesthetics.

I guess to play along though, I have a particular fantasy that runs about an hour long where I'm sitting at a bar with Adam Levine and one of us leaves with a bottle smashed over the other's head.

I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man. HATE 'em. And not just as a kitschy reference.

But the Eagle I hate the most is Joe Walsh. "Life's Been Good" is the most grating, tiring song ever to pollute classic rock radio.

(And sprsk, "Don't Change" by INXS is a helluva catchy song! C'mon, man!)

Imagine Dragons. I don't actually hate them, but my wife likes to make fun of me for enjoying Adele. In retaliation I've decreed Imagine Dragons to be the worst band ever since she enjoys them. In my and Imagine Dragons defense, she likes Nickelback and I don't have the heart to rip into her about that like I should.

OH SHIT. This is my real answer! I fucking hate a the Eagles. Just fuck them.

Never been a huge fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I find Kedis's vocal style pretty annoying.
That being said Blood Sugar Sex Magic is a pretty good album.

If I seriously have to answer this question it's probably Bon Jovi. Thanks a lot mom, for all those years of endlessly playing their music on the way to the Fred Meyer and Albertsons.

Kind of have a hard time irrationally hating bands though, it's so easy to ignore music I don't like.

Dave Matthews Band, U2, and especially the fucking Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I have friends who I really trust who love one or all all of these bands, so I don't dismiss them completely or think they are hacks or anything, but I just can't do it.

AC-DC for me

I find all of their music boring, sounds the same and is shockingly mediocre on a song-writing and musicianship level. I also hate the lead singer's voice.

Soulja Boy!

Nah, just kidding. Anybody who hates his music and thinks it's among the worst shit ever recorded is a rational human being.

There's nothing irrational for hating shitty poof rock hair bands. Fuck hair metal.

Uh-ohhhhhh, here comes a flock of wah-wahs!

Stupid joke aside, I also hate The Eagles, but my hatred isn't irrational. They're my parents' #1 favorite band. Their CD collection is nothing but Eagles and Jimmy Buffet. All I heard on road trips growing up was Desperado this and Cheeseburger in Paradise that. I am beyond tired of The Eagles.

(I guess I should mention I'm also tired of Mr. Buffet, but at least his stupid tropical novelty songs are upbeat and seem to go by quick)

Rush. Although I don't think it's irrational, I just really hate Rush. A lot of people like them, that's fine. I just don't.

Jimmy Buffett. Seriously can't stand him. Hate his stupid fucking songs and whenever I'm on vacation in some bar and a bunch of drunk old fogies start dancing around to his stupid vapid songs, I just can't handle it. Buffet is like the Rebecca Black of my parent's generation (although my parents are a bit too old for Buffet), vapid empty songs. It's just that this generation likes Rebecca Black ironically, and my parents' generation legitimately liked Jimmy Buffet.

I also hate the Eagles, but I think that's inspired by the Big Lebowski which made me realize that I really hate the Eagles.

Snow Patrol, Dashboard Confessional, and Death Cab for Cutie. Never really listened to them much, just heard a couple songs here and there and never really cared for them, but know a lot of people that liked them and talked about them endlessly, and now whenever I hear them I jump to "Ugh I hate this band." in my head.

I am one of the biggest live and let live types when it comes to entertainment, even when I I really dislike something (like the Eagles) I realize there is an audience for it and it's all good.

That being said I wouldn't be sad if all memory of Avril Lavine was wiped from human history.

U2, with all my heart. I can't stand Bono.
Honorary mention to Coldplay, they are sooo bad and their attitude, god...

Not bands but Iggy Azalea, Fifth Harmony and especially, very especially, Ariana Grande. Her bimbo face coupled with her tiny shrieking voice makes me want to punch things. The first two just look dumb to me.
