ABBA always remind me of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, and that is really bad.
Most German "intellectual alternative" aka Tocotronic, Fotos, Die Sterne, Blumfeld etc.
Post-Adornoism ruined German pop music forever. Only good "intellectual" pop music band here is Die Türen.
Internationally known bands:
Dire Straits
Post-Gabriel Genesis
Less b/c of any rational thing, but because on trips with my old man this was the only thing he played and I can barely listen to it in private anymore (and FTR, I usually like the Straits, particularly Love Over Gold and Brothers In Arms).

Tears for Fears. Specifically the fucking abominable song Sowing the Seeds of Love. Burn it, bury it, speak not of it again.
I also hate Bob Dylan's stupid voice. Good writer, crap singer.
Maybe The Beatles are before my time, but I've never really enjoyed any of their stuff. Yellow Submarine is...inoffensive, at best? I was going to say I don't understand why they're such a big deal, but I've never cared enough to try to find out.

This is my answer. There are plenty of bands I dislike/hate that just aren't to my tastes, but Pearl Jam stand out as a band I should like (based on other music I listen to), but I just can't stand them.

Scissor Sisters, I really can't stand that band. Grating sound and they've done one of the worst covers ever in my opinion.

I didn't know what trap beats were until I read this post. After looking it up, yes, I am inclined to agree. I don't think I've ever heard an artist use trap beats well.

I love them. Saw them at the League of Legends final in at the Seoul World Cup stadium a few years back, they were great. They're definitely generic, but I don't think generic automatically equals bad.
100% with you on Cake, my freshman roommate forced me to listen to that shit all the way from knoxville to memphis and I will never forgive him for it.
Crystal Castles. When they first came out, I felt they were capitalizing on chiptunes rise in popularity. That and taking credit for something when they could've said that they sampled certain artists and it would've been fine turned me off from then. I haven't listened to any of their music since probably 3008, but I'm aware that their style has evolved.

AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, fucking Dream Theater. And I'm forcing myself to like Queen but it's very hard, there is something about their sound that doesn't fit with my tastes. I mean, I like most of their famous songs but they hurt me.

I cannot stand them. I think they made exactly one decent song (Dirty Deeds...). I get annoyed by Bon Scott's and Brian Johnson's vocals. I think Angus Young is the personification of cringe. And holy shit, is it embarrassing how they try to drag it on currently when they should've put an end to this misery years or decades ago.
They're so bad, this post would definitely deserve to be on top of a new page.
