Bands you have an irrational hate-on for?

Oh yeah. Queen.

If they weren't so loved by everyone I wouldn't hate them. They would just be one of the many shitty rock band from the seventies. But since so many thinks they are the greatest band ever and Bohemian Rhapsody is the best song in the world, and I just don't get it, I hate them.

"I'm see a little man something something"

"SCARAMOOCH SCARAMOOCH SOMETHING FANDANGO"

"Galileo! Galileo!"

Ugh.

Radiohead and Daft Punk. A new album comes out and it's all I hear about.....but.... the music is terrible. I'd rather listen to silence.

But opinions man. /shrug

It's like bizarro world with how many people saying they hate the Beatles. I don't know if there is any other band that has had the impact on the music industry the way the beatles have. Even just looking at all the musicians that were influenced by them, you even have people in metal bands saying they were influenced by them.

If you cannot appreciate what the Beatles have done for music, you're just an ignoramus.

Boy oh boy am I ready for this.

Maroon 5 (Adam Levine)
The Beatles
RHCP
Linkin Park
Metallica
Disturbed
Killswitch Engaged
Bon Iver
Bon Jovi
U2
Avenged Sevenfold
Blink-182
Bring Me The Horizon
Twenty One Pilots
Coldplay
Paramore
Imagine Dragons
Fall Out Boy
Green Day
BIGBANG
All of JPOP & JROCK and JANYTHING
John Mayer

You enjoy bluegrass huh?

Bohemian Rhapsody is such a bad song, it's amazing how much praise it gets. Don't hate Queen, but I've never really been a fan of them.

Coldplay, U2, The Smiths and Oasis. All shite. (sorry)
Definitely agree on Coldplay and U2. Part of it is just that they're sooo popular and I just don't get it. They're boring at best but more often are just grating.

Smiths and Oasis I'm perfectly apathetic about.

Queen.

They've got a few made-for-sporting-events songs, and outside of those two mostly harmless songs, I just find them to be grating. I hear Bicycle Race or Fat Bottom Girls and I just can't help but cringe.

Father John Misty

the worst bits of every pretentious beardo self-styled psychedelic naval gazing poet rolled into a massive ego while producing the weakest tepidly snarky sub-sub-sub-Magnetic Fields indie music ever

Ugh.

People like them because they combined some pretty sick metal leanings with ostentatious campiness, all filtered through one of the greatest vocalists and showmen in the history of popular music.

Edit: Bohemian Rhapsody is a really great song, by the way, in terms of structure, musicality, lyrics (yes, many of them are nonsense, but it's well-wrought nonsense that gives an "in" into the fracturing psyche of its speaker), and overall effect. Even when I have drifted away from Queen, emotionally, that song always stands out as absolutely sterling songwriting, by any metric.

Coldplay, U2, The Smiths and Oasis. All shite. (sorry)

one of these bands is not like the others

it's The Smiths.

can't stand Adele. I don't think there's a single one of her songs that doesn't bore me to tears. I don't even mind top 40 radio / pop music that much.

As far as an actual band goes, I couldn't get into fun. when they were big, and it was solely because of Nate Ruess. He has a vocal quality that sounds as if he's straining or suddenly in pain, and it skirts the line right into unpleasantness. It's as if he's about to crack whenever he gets going. When he's just singing normally, his vocal quality and emphasis just make me kinda wanna punch him.

For music acts in general, The Chainsmokers annoy me. There isn't anything artistic or technically interesting about their productions that's genuinely catchy or surprising. Their newer singles have a plodding kind of sound that simultaneously tries way too hard to play the role of a banger. Roses demonstrates what I mean the best, with a milquetoast drop that's overproduced with a random fade-in on some of the notes and a completely useless "what!" sample in the background that's almost embarrassing.

Tool: As a drummer, I can respect them. But their music just goes nowhere. I feel like a drone listening to it.

Fun: Just can't. How are they popular?

Thought of two more.

Maroon 5 - One of the very few bands I disliked even when I was growing up and more or less liked everything. I just can't do it.

Ed Sheeran - I hate him and I don't know why. His voice, his face, just all of it. I'll even like covers of his songs, so it's not even the lyrics or melodies I dislike. It's just him.

My chemical romance

Hate on them all you want as most of their stuff is "meh", but The Black Parade is genuinely one of the best concept albums to come out in the last ten years or so. Like, take that one album away from everything else they've ever done...it's actually pretty great.

Gotta agree with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Green Day. I basically hate any Alternative Rock bands, or any band that sings songs with a happy-go-lucky cheerful tune. I used to like Offspring when I was young, but I just can't anymore.

Yeah its radiohead; dont get the appeal and attempting to understand it has just led to unprovoked insults towards me

The Dirty Heads are pretty annoying. They're like the antithesis of whatever band they're trying to emulate.

Muse is the ultimate answer.

The Doors...and I love 60's psych rock. It's mainly Morrison, but there is just no part of me that has ever been in the mood to listen to the Doors.
This. They're a bunch of fucking hacks led by King hack, a drunken idiot who people treat like a warrior poet but is just a wanker. I really, really hate them.

DFA1979. Basically, they toured with Nine Inch Nails, and I found out reading DFA1979 forum that the band isn't completing the tour. I pointed it to a NIN forum, and Trent Reznor was quite furious knowing this news. Meanwhile, the folks from DFA1979 are losing it, saying how they didn't mean any disrespect and that they're leaving for family matters or something. TR is like "Piss off, unprofessionalism!", while I scramble my head defusing the situation and telling DFA members "Clearly that's not TR saying that!", while TR laughs at me and says "Piss off, gullible child!".

In the end, I saw them live ahead of NIN, and they weren't even that great live, and they disbanded shortly (and rebanded). I hate DFA1979 for making me look bad in front of my boss.

There is no need to be upset. People don't have to like what you do.

It's always the Beatles fans

I'm not upset, I don't care who likes what. I was referring to people whose comments clearly show that they are ignorant as to why The Beatles are such an important band. I mean, I detest Bob Dylan's sand and glue voice, but I'd be ignorant if I said he was overrated shit. He's earned his place in history. Likewise with The Beatles.

U2, Coldplay, The Beatles.

No Surprises is one of my favorite songs but the rest of Radiohead I couldn't care less about.

If we can name solo artists, I can't stand fucking Bruno Mars or Beyonce. If I could pick one person to get out of the musical business forever as if he never existed it would be Bruno fucking Mars. I can't stand his stupid shitty songs, I hate all of them. Jesus, I really fucking hate these crap songs. Same for goddamn Halo from Beyonce. Worst piece of shit song ever recorded.

These corny fake-ass motherfuckers right here.

It's immaterial whether someone dislikes the Beatles or not, they pretty much led rock music for nearly a decade. If some are ignorant of that, that can be commented on without someone having to "be upset."

Nothing could be more rational than hating the Black Eyed Peas. There is no level at which you can hate BEP where someone has to step in and go "let's not be irrational, here!"

I absolutely cannot stand Iggy Azalea. The way she shifts from her regular accent to her "rapping" voice just makes me ill.

Also, Mumford & Sons. This quote from Jimmy Kimmel's Mean Tweets segment said it all:

“I love how music takes you away to another place. Like Mumford & Sons is playing at this restaurant so now I’m going to another restaurant.”

Prince. I was, back in the days, a fan of MJ and supposedly he had beef with prince? Don't know if that ever happend but since that day somebody told me in 1992'ish I hated Prince for no other reason then somebody telling be he had beef with MJ.

That lasted for decades.
