Steam demo reminded me why I need to just sell my 360. I plug in a wired 360 controller and it's instantly the 360 version but in much higher resolution and 60fps.

The combat in this game is completely amazing; will buy
When it goes on sale on Steam - I can't even afford $50 for brand new games I'm actually uber-hyped over :(
.

It's $40 on amazon.

It's $40 on Amazon with the code 5OFFARKM.

Edit: Beaten.

Update DirectX with the version included with the demo.

I posted my solution nary but 3 posts later.

I just renamed the game exe. It runs now. Smooth as butter with everything high, physx, supersampling @ 4.

This has been confirmed. The difficulty affects the behavior of the AI quite a bit it seems.

They're all pretty awesome if I may say so. Mark Hamill in particular is excellent. I guess that dude knows his character pretty well. And the character is lots of fun.

Completely. Mark Hamill is my favorite Joker, with Heath coming in as a close second. I am 100% glad that they got the cartoon voices for the game. I think it would be a completely different feel for most of us if they had new voice actors.

So, having the options to use different approaches to take out enemies is poor game design? You want to be limited to one specific takedown over and over again, then?

there is a definite difference between having multiple avenues of play and having some completely useless options that you never use. don't know if it applies to this game though.

I can't imagine the difficulty of the first few grunts can really be used to gauge the difficulty of the entire game.

Batman should be able to handle your run of the mill convict with ease. He is Batman.

This is the sort of game where a demo would have to be a couple of hours to explain its full potential.

You can put explosive gel on a weak ceiling, then sneak in the room and put a sonic emmiter in there. A bunch of goons will go in to check out the noise, and then you drop the roof on them.

There are tonnes of gadgets and tonnes of ways to dispatch goons. You're scraping the iceberg here.

I described the game over drinks last night to a to a friend, and summed it up as MGS (stealth) meets God of War (combat). But if you can set traps and shit like that, then I sold the game extremely short. That scenario sounds slick as shit.

Hope it's successful enough for a sequel.

Can hope for a full size Gotham City and ongoing crimes to stop. That's got to be the next step. :D

Playing the demo i couldn't stop thinking about this too. Damm that would be awesome.

This is Batman's post #217.

Especially as the demo, which is basically the game's tutorial levels, is set to Easy. :lol

As for performing varied attacks rather than the rote ones, you get more XP in combat for using a wider range of moves (you'll see a bonus pop up when the combat ends), and I think it's the same for the stealth areas. In general, if you behave more like Batman, you get rewarded for it with quicker upgrades/unlocks.

Will be getting this for PS3, even though I have a decent PC. Nothing beats kicking back on the couch with a 50inch Kuro and decent surround setup.
Geez man, with a decent HDTV like that, hook up your PC to it, buy a wireless 360 controller for it and play it that way- that's what I did (and yes, I have a PS3 too).

Finally got around playing the demo, and I'm surprised.

The graphics, sound, controls everything about the game was top notch, well maybe the camera was slightly annoying from time to time.
Personally, I loved how easily you could pull of combos.
The slowmotion, while punching the thugs straight into face was pretty cool too.

I had no interest in this game before playing the demo, and after playing it, I went straight to put down my pre-order for the game.

I am breaking my self imposed rule of not paying full price for games and pre-ordered it via amazon. The coupon and reduced price make it way too good to pass up. I was so sold when I realized you can hang upside down like a bat. SO COOL.

Demo was pretty cool. I'll have to check out the retail. I hope it is a bit harder though. The combat basically plays itself.

This is my biggest fear as well.. That said, the game looks great and I'll probably pick it up without reading any review beforehand, something I don't do very often these days :)

Ah I forgot the PC release was going to be at a later date. I think I will hold out though as it's cheaper then a console version, my machine can run is really nice and I don't mind waiting a few weeks, reading about it on gaf will hold me.

Weekend Batman approves of his game.
