Storyline

"Tricked into believing that the Solar Empire is developing a devastating super-weapon, Commander Pierce and Colonel Windsor of the Anglo Isles launch a pre-emptive strike.

General Herman and Brigadier Betty of the Western Frontier are on garrison duty in the Solar Empire when the Anglos srike, and assist Empress Lei-Qo and Admiral A-Qira in repelling the invaders.

But as the nations of the world, including the Tundran Territories, are once again propelled into all-out conflict, it becomes clear that a shadowy figure is pulling the strings from afar.

Can it be that the power-hungry Kaiser Vlad of Xylvania has returned? And what does this have to do with the centuries-old conflict between the Iron Legion and the Solar Empire? "

The screens, the boxart... all look great.

Is it still confirmed to have online co-op?
 
The game got pushed back in America according to the american release list from Nintendo during E3. The date is now October 29th.

i can't believe that commander pierce and colonel windsor fell for that.
 
Wow, the sea-based stuff looks great!

I really enjoyed Battalion Wars on the GameCube, but I had a few niggling issues with the controls (namely, trying to switch to the unit I wanted while the battle was going on). Hopefully, the Wiimote will clear some of this up.

Regardless, it should be good RTS fun.
 
I think this game is going to surprise a lot of people. The first one was excellent bar some occasionally wonky controls and the absence of multiplayer.

President George Shrubbery and Secretary of State Colin Pow made a pretty convincing case. =(
 
goddamnit even on the wii theres just too many games to buy this winter. Im afraid I have to sit this particular one out until I can budget it in. But it looks so fun I really do want it :/
War games can be fun to me if they dont take themselves so seriously.
 
i liked the first. it had issues to be sure, but overall the game was surprisingly fun.

with naval units, online play, and (hopefully) improved unit selection/controls with the Wii remote i'll probably check this out.

i would've liked other cool stuff like destructible terrain though.

So does this game have good control? And is there actual strategy or is it mostly running around blowing crap up with your unit of choice? Those are probably my biggest concerns with the BW series.

I like the online co-op BTW, more games should have this option.
 
It looks very interesting and compelling to me even though I still don't really understand how it plays. Is there basically a battle going on and you can switch between units?

There's a some strategy. Each unit has its own strengths and weaknesses, like missle vets are really adept at anti-air but their weapons are nearly useless against infantry, and flame vets are excellent at burning up infantry but useless against tanks, etc. It's alot about using the right units at the right times and controlling them well.

This game is my online-hype for Wii. While MarioStrikers is fun, and SSBB would be, too, if it had online, it´s such massive multiplayer games that i love for online-gaming. Please, Nintendo, make it 16 players at least.
Also, i hope you have many options for setting up games.
I could see myself playing this game all nights long if the online is right.
 
so Im guessing Nintendo is hoarding a lot of its cash reserves to fund all those servers for online wii games in the future. the way this console is selling they will need a hell of a lot of server space.

The game looks fast, which I like. And the graphics look better than I thought they would (I know it's the GC game, they still look good for GC).

I couldn't quite tell what was going on sometimes, like when he had an infantry shooting rockets over a mountain, or he'd switch to a tank, move it two feet, then switch over to some guys and start blasting the crap out of some enemy infantry. And it seems really micromanagement-y when you have to switch to a guy, rally everyone around him, send them somewhere, then switch to another guy, rally more units, etc.

It looks like this game will really benefit from the Wiimote, though, so BWii controls should be really intuitive just from that, right?

This is more of a middling detail, but the VA in that video was pretty awful. I really hope they find better actors for BWii :lol

Yay! It's delayed! I was wondering what I was going to play after GTA IV. Thanks Nintendo.

I'm pretty excited about this game. I was really looking forward to playing it at E3 but couldn't find it. Was it even there? Has anyone played it yet? Can you use classic controls with it? Or is it motion only? Co-op is split screen, LAN, online or all?
