Battle erupts over Trumpcare

Call it TrumpCare for now as it implodes in spectacular fashion. Can call it GOPcare, Republicare, Ryancare in other iterations of failures. Every revision or new bill gets a new nickname that can stick to the party.

Shouldn't it be called Ryancare?

Honestly, I think Ryancare has a better ring to it than Trumpcare.

Plus we get to have this alongside Ryan's constant "well, this is my life I guess" look on his face.

Though Donaldcare makes me think of health care given by an angry cartoon duck.

Telling how Trump will stamp his trashy name on anything... but he doesnt want it on this

Trump is the type of person that will parade anything until it turns out bad. He would then precede to throw everyone else that worked on it under the bus that he isn't that loyal to even if they were in his own party.

He wants it on his name because he doesn't have to work on his own, but he will claim credit once it passes, and claim he isn't once it blows up in his face. However, he might oppose it if his stooges convince him that it isn't a good bill, but that isn't likely to happen.

If doesn't pass it will hurt his ego might proclaim he has a better idea that never comes to pass, but he will move on. Although, it would look bad for the short term since this is the first major legislation. If it doesn't pass it would look negatively on him, but he will move on eventually since he really isn't that invested in GOP plan. He'll probably be more irked when the bill fails, people blame him since people called it Trumpcare, and didn't do enough to get it passed. The biggest damage would be to the GOP. Seemingly, healthcare reform needs to pass so that the GOP can move on to other legislation. If healthcare ties them up nothing would get done and they would have to go back to the drawing broad. This could lead to more infighting an desperation between full repeal Republicans to others who don't want that.

If it passes, then Trump would blame all the fallout to everyone else and probably destroy the little relationship with the GOP.

The GOP is in a lose-lose situation that they put themselves in with not making a plan for years, and making unrealistic promises. The bill being ACA-lite just highlights the fact that they don't have a replacement.

Trumpcare, Trumpcare-R1, Trumpcare-R2 etc etc and See how high the revision number goes

Man, I miss the times when I would look forward to seeing our president shirtless.

Now we have Orange Man Boobs to look forward to.

Holy shit. Obama is ripped.

Especially compared to the walking orange.

I thought we were supposed to call it 45care.

lol. This meme should blow up just because Trump is such an insecure shithead. it'd drive him insane...er.

Anything he cannot control drives him insane.

This is great.

I can't help but look at the comparison on the left and imagine Obama-haters and Trump fans going "Meh, muscles are overrated, flub is the new sexy."

President approval ratings are like THE indicator for how midterms will go. Trumpcare is fine. Obamacare worked out very well for the GOP.

We have to make #TrumpDontCare a thing. Trumpcare makes it sound like he actually cares.
As someone pointed out to me, that's too cute and doesn't roll off the tongue. Good propaganda is simple and quick and easily repeatable. Obamacare, for example. Trumpdon'tcare is hard to type and hard to say and gets away from the point, which is that this is Republican healthcare and it's tied to Trump.

I mean, if there is one thing that people should have learned by now is that nuance doesn't work with the American electorate.

You were voted in to repeal and replace, you accomplished nothing. That's the nuance that's there.

Your base will hate you, and the other side already does. Win win!

In the meantime the ACA is getting sightly more popular. Thank you GOP

Ugh... can we please not call it Trumpcare?

It didn't work when the repubs tried it, so why the fuck would we borrow from their playbook.

...it absolutely worked, which is why "Obamacare" polls poorly while the individual aspects of the law do better. There are many who legitimately don't know that "Obamacare" and PPACA are the same thing.

Inspired by the post above mine because I want to emphasize the congressional control thing...

The Republicans controlled both houses of congress for 6 years of a dem presidency in large part on the back of spinning the ACA as a very negative thing. It absolutely worked.

Obamacare polls poorly because it's fundamentally a Republican plan liberals made modifications to that conservatives don't like. The worst of both worlds.

A black president created the law which meant they had to oppose it to cater to their base. They've shifted so far to the right there is nothing to hold onto anymore.

Now they are trapped as they can't propose anything better.

Although the type of Republicans who would create and support something like Obamacare don't really exist anymore, instead you have people like Ryan.

Please tell me somebody got a recording of this.

Our President ladies and gentlemen. Who the fuck cares about the poor and the sick? I want to WIN!

He said like ten times during an interview he wants obamacare to "Explode" "Let it explode"

This isn't the point all and doesn't explain why Obamacare polls worse than using ACA or explaining what's actually in it.

But that's not as easy as just bitching and complaining about it. See my previous point re:nuance. The electorate rejects nuance for simple dumbed down explanations that are at an elementary school level.

TrumpCare huh? somuchforthecleverleft.jpeg Call it the Worlds Worst Healthcare Plan or something instead of just copying the GOP, Schumer!
