Bayonetta 2 demo available on the Nintendo eShop (NA & EU)

I dont understand this. The Gamepad is a Pro pad but with a screen in the middle. How is the Gampad bad for this game?

I feel the same way, but didn't want to turn this into controller wars. Personally I think it being "a million times better!" is exaggerated. I guess it can be heavy after awhile if my mind blanks out away from gameplay and concentrate on how long I've played, but at this point I just don't notice. After playing W101 I just can't complain about it. Especially trigger complaints, your fingers will rarely be off of the Z triggers, so I don't know what the gripe is but....*shrugs*

For the boss chasing you on the train, when he does his big slow motion attack to start off the fight you can actually dodge it in the cutscene. If you don't touch your controller Bayo will automatically dodge and the fight will start normally, but if you do dodge she'll backflip way up in the air and you'll start the fight in Witch Time!

Not really my thing, I guess :( These games feel too button-mashy if you're a noob like myself. Also, so many QTEs.

Games aren't button mashy, players are. Well, some games don't reward any style of play except mashing, but Bayonetta isn't one of them.

Limiting the number of demo launches is so goddamned petty. Nintendo.
I think it's counterproductive. I try to play my Nintendo demos as little as possible, and I think it really dampens the possibility of a love affair with a demo that leads to a purchase.

Never played the first Bayonetta so this demo was my first experience.

I am 100% sold. Bayonetta feels like such a badass. And the game definitely feels fair: mistakes made felt entirely my fault.

The Gamepad hurts my hands after playing for prolonged hours. It as simple as that

Luckily, Nintendo's got your back there, and installed an appalling battery for your sake.

The gamepad batterylife is basically the only problem i have with it, and i enjoy it over the Pro controller.

when the game says to press the Y button i keep on pressing where the Y button would be on an xbox controller

If QTEs just said 'X' or 'Y' I think I'd miss every single one. The way they show the full button diamond and highlight the one you need to be pressing is a godsend :P

Agreed, don't really understand it myself..... Does anyone else limit demos?

15 trials is exactly how many trials you'll need in order to boot the game once per day - playing for the entire day, if you want - from now until the game launches on Oct 24th. Then, at that time, we can stop fretting and buy the game if you love the demo that much. Seems perfectly fine to me, especially since I thought they wouldn't bother with a demo at all.

Well it was pretty much more of Bayonetta 1. This is a good thing and a problem; it's good because the gameplay is fantastic, it's a problem because I hate the aesthetic and turbo retarded universe, which leaves me in the same place where the original game left me: disappointed that this isn't Devil May Cry instead.

Ok, having never played bayonetta 1 (aside from the fact that I'm 95% gaming on PC, I only had a Wii and ps3 last gen for consoles) I was slightly skeptical of the hype surrounding the franchise, despite my love for the clover/platinum developers and many of their past titles. I was going to hold out until I received my preordered retail copy, but I had 15 minutes to kill tonight so I loaded the demo.

Long story short... I'm a believer. This demo was awesome and crazy. Visceral in many ways. Unlike many other recent titles with this level of hype that have disappointed, this game is actually being undersold. No wonder there is so much vitriol regarding its rescue. Good job Platinum. It's been too long since I've booted one of your games.

It got me excited for the game.

As an aside, can we not use "retarded" unnecessarily as a descriptor?

Demo is amazing.

I took a sweet screenshot of one of my favorite parts:

Also, FB sadness:

haha I think this is exactly how I feel about this franchise.

I'm already buying the game.

I just don't understand why Nintendo is so keen on limiting their demos. They're the only console owner that builds this functionality into their operating systems and it makes no sense at all. A proper demo is long enough to give you a taste of the full game while witholding enough to get you to buy. You don't need launch limits when the demo itself is already limited.

Where is this audience that replays a 10 minute demo of a 10 hour(?) game SO MUCH that they go from "will buy" to "burnt out, won't buy"? Hint: These people do not exist.

It's just so petty. Nintendo.

Complaints about it being "retarded" in comparison to DMC seem ridiculous after the extremes of DMC4 and DmC.

I was pretty rusty so it took me an hour to get good enough to get golds in the first two verses and plat in the third. I miss having the Official guide to tell me the exact time and combo requirements.

Download the 360 splitsecond demo, and say that. Not saying the limit doesn't suck, but people are fine with a demo, especially if it has all the advertised mechanics.

Snagged the demo as soon as I read this and sat down to play through it.

First off, I loved it. Totally over the top, great character design, crisp controls. Had a ton of fun playing the demo with the only negative being that it ended too soon.

From a technical perspective, I was incredibly impressed with the demo. My wife came into the room (she's an avid gamer) and thought I was playing the PS4. I can't say it looks like a next gen game but there are times when it's DAMN close. Fantastic visuals and it's all at a silky smooth 60 fps.

Will be picking this up Day 1.

Yay, I PPed the first verse. I may have to delete the demo to stop myself playing it all the way till release day.

It's a little odd the tutorial doesn't cover dodge offset.

I DL it. I was hyped. It was a perfect experience.

I realized playing this today that I just don't give a shit about video games. Maybe a few here and there - but I don't. Thanks for the memories, GAF.

Having never played a Bayonetta game outside of a few minutes on a buddy's 360 I was blown away by this demo. Really great stuff here. This over the top nonsense is right up my alley. The controls are amazing (tried with a pro). The wait is even more excruciating. Definitely going to play 1 and then 2 so I wasn't to worried about spoiling anything. What this demo entails I already knew about after watching so much Treehouse anyway. Story probably just moves along the over the top action anyway.

Can't really comment on the gameplay since I have no clue how I'm supposed to play a Bayonetta game, but the aliasing, frame dips and 30fps cutscenes were pretty awful. I know Platinum really aren't technical wizards, but goddamn.

Still buying for the Daisy costume.

They don't limit it because they think people will get burnt out on it, they probably limit it because they think people will play the demo instead of buying the game. That might still be dumb but to me personally the limit is kinda weird yet it's not a big deal to me, it's whatever. Free demos aren't owed to people at all. and I think 15 boot ups of the demo is plenty

Was finally able to play it after a long ass shift at work.

Got gold my first try :(

Forget the pro controller, this game plays like a dream with the Classic Controller.
