Bayonetta 2 demo available on the Nintendo eShop (NA & EU)

Agreed, don't really understand it myself..... Does anyone else limit demos?

This a first for me. However, I do understand it from a publisher's perspective. The demo gives you just a taste of what you're in for without boring you by letting do the same level over and over again.

However, I find it frustrating as hell. The gameplay is addictive, in that I want to try for pure platinum. But I've already used up more than half my playthroughs.

They should call it a demo teaser.

I couldn't wait to get home and play the demo, and it didn't disappoint. I had a grin on my face the whole time and loved it all. I was never great at the first game but it's easily one of my favorite games of last generation, so glad this is actually out so soon. I really need to pick up a Pro controller before this is out, between this and Smash next month I'll need it. And to finally learn how to properly use dodge offset, never did get that in Bayonetta 1.

First time playing any bayonetta game. This is some crazy stuff. Wasn't even considering a purchase before the demo. I may jump.

Awww yeah. It plays like a dream! Wii U Pro controller was meant for this game. I actually got a silver my first run, which sounds mediocre but I'm a guy who got stone ranking on almost every mission on the PS3 Bayonetta.

The classic controller feels damn good too haha

It has to be, I played this very same demo like 4 times a year ago and yet here I am again, still watching at my tv with awe.

How long have you been playing demos though? There were some awesome demos in the ps2 era. I mean it was a great demo but I don't really see anything that puts it at the very best of all time

Ugh I can't download the demo until I update my Wii U... And it's already crashed twice trying to install it. It's not the first time that something like that happened either. It's really a shitty console, but it's got good games so I'm kinda forced to keep it :/

Hey in B1, does anyone remember this kick move that you could keep doing? I don't remember the details, but it kinda looked like Chun Li's lightning kick.

Does B2 have something similar? Because without that move in B1, it was too hard for me lol. I'm not too good at action games

I found the move, it's PPPPK the last kick is the Chun-Li move and ends with a wicked weave. <3

My favorite combos are PPPKKK, that leg split with a wicked weave!
And also PPKKK, so stylish!

I have to say... lots of people made fun of those complaining about jaggies in the trailers... they are very apparent. There are jaggies fucking everywhere. Biggest complaint about Wii U games visually is lack of AA.

Finished my 4th play. It gets better with age. This might be my first 10/10 Action game. I so cannot wait. I hope the full game doesn't disappoint.

Yeah some people can't handle any complaints towards stuff they like.

On another note, 3rd time's a charm, I managed to update my Wii U and I'm finally downloading the demo! Can't wait to play it :D

On my way to downloading the demo I saw the Eshop price for Bayo 2 alone: NZ$89.99. Nintendo pls, that's more expensive than ordering Bayo 1+2 at your average retailer (that's not Ebgames I guess).

Bayonetta feels like an HD PS2 action game. Reminds me of a lot of those types of games we don't see as often anymore.

Are you referring to the visuals or the gameplay?

If it's gameplay, than yes, its a throwback to great action games made by action geniuses, the best at what they do.

If visuals, than I highly disagree. Looks better than a lot of PS4 games! Maybe not in tech but in the art style and presentation.

Not bad for my second time around.

I'm pretty sure it will discount 100% off the price of Bayo 1 though. $89.99 is about what retailers in Australia are charging too. Some seem to be using the fact that it's two games as an excuse to charge a little extra, kinda like they sometimes do with day one editions.

> Platinum/Nintendo gives everyone a FREE demo!

> People complain about only being able to boot up said demo once EVERY DAY UNTIL RELEASE!

FFS people, be happy you're getting ANY bonus playtime!

I guess Sakurai said it best:

This is like a free dessert after a luxurious meal that was prepared free of charge. In a restaurant with this type of service, I don’t think there’s anybody who would say, “Change this to a meat dish!!”

Yet, I’m told to do that about [Bayonetta]. But, I guess since a lot of them are children, it cannot be helped.

What don't you understand??The Gamepad is the pro controller 3 times bigger. I also think the pro controller is way more comfortable. The Gamepad hurts my hands after playing for prolonged hours. It as simple as that

so it is better with a pro controller?

to bad that i can't effort it...my hands hurt really bad playing bayonetta.

Yeah the pro controller is better for action games. I haven't played Bayonetta 2 yet but TW101 felt a lot better after I swapped to the pro controller on my 2nd playthrough.

> Platinum/Nintendo gives everyone a FREE demo!

Demos are free in all systems.

Shocking I know.

Some people want to practice combos and moves before release day, some people don't might feel confortable leaving the console all day on or not playing anything else in the system, because Nintendo is the only one who restringes demos, for some unknown reason.

15 tries might be enough for most people, but the bigger point is that there shouldn't be a restriction for starters. Is silly, is stupid and is a problem for some.

I love how people think demos are a luxury and we should be grateful....I guess they are on Nintendo systems....

Plays like a dream and it looks pretty fantastic. Playing it off screen is also quite glorious. I think control wise though the best way is definitely with the pro controller.

Why did you quit the demo eight times already? Don't you just go back to the main menu after the short teaser?

Dodging with a digital button instead of a spongey analogue trigger is magical. This demo is top notch. Like many others here, I have seen this bit dozens of times but it felt so good and looked stunning, it really didn't matter. I will likey play this scene many times over the next two weeks.

If the entire game matches the demo's performance, I will be incredibly thrilled!

B-b-but EA...
and MGS5 :p

Usage limit in demo software is quite common. In games, maybe it's only Nintendo, but let's not pretend it's something only one company does. At least it's actually a whole prologue of the final game, and not something different just to say it's a demo.

It's free. And there's a workaround for the limit.

Yes it's a form of a luxury. Not everybody gives a demo these days, and not everybody with a gaming system gets an access to a demo. At least this one is open for everybody with a EU/NA Wii U and an internet connection, and you do not need to buy another game just to get a demo.

Well, that was insane. Not sure if I'm just rusty or having trouble getting use to using the Wii U controller for Bayonetta, but I damn near died fighting Gamorrah. Only managed a bronze, gold and silver despite being able to get platinums pretty easily on the first one on normal on 360. Still, love what I've played and can't wait for the next two week to be done!
