Beakman's World >>>>>>>> Bill Nye The Science Guy

I found watching Beakman's World to be difficult. It felt like he was trying to hard to be the cool guy - "check out my crazy hair! my lab coat is green! holy shit, a giant rat!" He's like the Jack Black of science.

I guess what I'm saying is that even at the age of 13 Beakman came off as a overproduced and superficial.

Edit:

did beakman's world use a morrissey parody named 'momentissey' to illustrate the concept of momentum no i thought not

Oh, or what about Sir Mix-a-lot to discuss displacement? "I like big boats!"

"The water cycle makes it Rain Rain
Evaporation makes it Rain Rain
Condensation makes it Rain Rain"

Bill Nye wins.

Alright, I have compared the two. I have to give credit to Beakman for presentation, but I can't deny that Bill has a bit more information, that and being a real scientist.

Bill Nye had the better theme song.

"Bill Nye...the Science Guy" (guy with a really deep voice)

"Bill!...Bill!...Bill!...Bill!"

"Inertia is a property of matter"

I put the wrong symbol.

Fine, here

int i = 1;
while(i > 0){
System.out.println("Bill Nye rocks, and Althane sucks at typing!");
}
Still too complicated. Just do while(true) or for(,,)

and I liked both

Sorry for the tangent, I was too old to watch these guys.

These 2 were awesome though:

Too wordy and depends on "true" being defined! while(1)

Oh, and Bill Nye, but more because of Eyes of Nye and Almost Live! than Bill Nye The Science Guy.

Does while(1) work in Java?

Also, does anyone else remember the Beakman's World Book???

As a kid Beakman, but in retrospect... Beakman's world (with its fish-eye lens, crazy hair and quirky sidekicks) feels like 90s pandering.

I like Bill more, but Beakman is pretty great too. Bill always felt like real science while Beakman felt more like entertainment.

Still, Magic School Bus beats both hands down.

Magic School Bus?!?

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK.

I would fucking LOVE DVD sets.

One of my animation teachers and his wife worked on the show. Most of the reference from that show came from their personal library. Can you believe Scholastic cancelled the show because they felt that they had enough episodes made to air reruns indefinitely? What a bunch of pricks.

Thats actually what Nickelodeon does. It's gets too a point where they would make more money in 100% syndication than airing new episodes.

Solid business decision actually.

I know, but as a kid I didn't know that. I waited YEARS for a new episode.

The pain.

Go hell.

I just recently saw Beakman's World after totally forgeting about it and I have to say it's an awesome kids show, I don't even mind watching it today.

Was shocked to actually see Beakman's World on Fox not to long ago. Had no idea if it was a re-run or new. I loved both shows. That said nothing beats 3-2-1 contact. Damn theme for that show still almost brings a tear to my eye.

Does anyone remember Ghostwriter? Yeah, that was great.
Oh the flashbacks! I loved Ghostwriter! I never understood why they changed Rob for that lameass Hector, he was so annoying. Also, Jamal's cousin and Gaby 2.0... HATE.

:( That's a bit of a dealbreaker, but now I'm tempted to see how bad it is.

It's honestly not a bad comedy. It's one of those movies that is great to watch with a group of friends; and if you ever worked as a waiter or cook it's even better. Oh, and Dane Cook doesn't play a very big role in the film, so there's that.

Only avoid if you have something against Ryan Reynolds, as the camera is on him for at least 80% of the movie.

Ghostwriter! WORD...

(no that was actually the first sentence of the intro...)

i think the show needs a thread lol ,i was watching youtube vids of it damn feels like forever since i watched it

Bill Nye is superior to Beakman.

But not by much. Beakman's World rules.

Has anyone seen that later show Bill Nye did that was aimed at older viewers? I've always wanted to see that.

EDIT: ^ Oh yeah, it was The Eyes of Nye.

Definitely grew up watching Bill Nye & The Magic School Bus, so I'm gonna have to go Nye on this one. Which one ran first? I honestly don't think I ever saw Beakman's World :/
