Ben Carson admits fabricating West Point scholarship

He's still one of my picks, nothing's come up to change that. I don't have to personally like whom a vote for, I vote for whomever will benefit me the most, and hurt others the least regardless of party, and if there's something on the ballot I am not learned enough on, I simply do not vote on that thing instead of making a half-assed vote.

But yeah, this guy's been killing it lately. The Pyramids to store grain. I know that wheat was found in one and was found to be still alive as seeds (learned it in Bill Nye as a kid), but to think that pyramids were granaries is insane.

BUT HOW

HOW

Why would you need "something" to come up? What the hell man.

Oh, you're a Carson supporter? Please tell me about the appeal. I get Trump, but I don't understand Carson at all, help.

Don't waste your time trying to understand how the fuck HUELEN's mind works. People have tried and failed to get any semblance of logic the last time this popped up.

I think he doesn't want to be president, but he doesn't want to quit, therefore he will just say crazier and crazier stuff until people actually WANT to vote for "Jeb!"

It used to be fun to laugh at this character, now it's just sad. And if it's real then everyone has failed you

update: coworker sarcastically claims i'm racist for not liking carson. this is apparently karmic payback for other unknown parties calling him racist for not liking obama.

Huelen got 83% Carson on that site. I don't even know what you'd answer to get that.

I got 6% and that scared me.

The latest CNN poll is CLOSER than the last CNN poll that came out between Donald and Carson he didn't drop, this will just help him, why? Because he'll tie it with the "cnn investigation" about him trying to stab a friend which is also being questioned as a lie.

He changed the name of the college to protect it from the media, of course.

It makes sense if Carson if your first pick and always was your first pick. Huelen's first pick is Bernie though, which makes the Carson second / third pick really puzzling. Especially with Huelen's recent comments about platforms. They're polar opposites.

If we could find one thing they agree on, maybe we'd find the key. Guns? Israel? Best power ranger? Who knows!?

Can't find any coverage even in the Politics sections of US news sites. Are they just going to gloss over this?
Probably. Fox is the only sort of outlet that would out something like this and they obviously aren't going to damage one of their candidates.

Maaan I wish another candidate had uncovered this and had kept it secret until a debate :(

Thats the worst format for this.

Ben would be like: nope, you're wrong. Check your sources, the liberal media spreading lies.

And the moderators would stare and they'd move on.

There is also questions regarding the validity of stories and events he describes in his biography, Carson's shtick is a redemption story and stories detailing a violent past may or may not be exactly as Carson has described.

Since Carson has reached the top of the Republican field, he’s inevitably going to be under more scrutiny, not only over his policy positions, but also accounts of his life. Carson's campaign admitted Friday he fabricated a story about receiving a full scholarship to West Point after Politico raised question about the claim.

When it comes to the teenage stabbing incident, The Daily Beast’s Gideon Resnick recently wrote about how Carson’s account had shifted over the years. CNN's Scott Glover and Maeve Reston followed up with an investigation Thursday, which found that "nine friends, classmates and neighbors who grew up with Carson ... have no memory of the anger or violence the candidate has described."

Carson is painting the recent vetting of his life and policies as a biased liberal media going after him and not giving the same amount of scrutiny towards Obama during his candidacy.

Yup.

There is an idea of a Ben Carson; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.

Am I the only one who doesn't see this as a big deal. He probably met the general who offered to get him a placement at West Point that would be fully funded. Doesn't seem that much of a stretch to remember this as being offered a full scholarship to West Point.

I agree with this.

But this story doesn't come in a vacuum.

If this stuff is made up than perhaps that lends some further credence to the following? I have heard somewhat credibly that Dr. Carson isn't particularly well liked among other neurosurgeons. Supposedly many of them feel he's long been better at selling his career than he was at actual surgery. That said, while the fact that he's put a huge amount of time and effort into self PR for decades isn't really up for debate, anything about his actual surgical skill is pretty much hearsay.

To be clear, I know the above feelings accurately represent at least one neurosurgeon. It's how accurate their assertion that it's representative of people in the profession as a whole that I'm unsure of.

That seems like the type of thing you'd make certain of before you put in print though....call me crazy.

"Clearly, the liberal media in their witchhunt to discredit me has nothing better to do than attack anybody with conservative principles."

Didn't someone on GAF know him/work with him at some point?

This is like the reunion episode in The League where Kevin changes Andre's profile to say he was sack tapped so hard that he had to get his tesicle removed and replaced with a noodicle. Andre wants to correct it, but they keep saying if the ball part is not true, how can they believe anything else he says.

Ben Carson is Andre.

I think it's more like the actor that plays Kevin lying about being at the WTC on 9/11
