I didn't know what to expect when I opened this thread...
but I was actually thinking the same thing when the movies were announced. I have no idea who could handle the development of the game and even while Berserk Musou makes sense from a financial standpoint it's not really what I want from the series (didn't want HnK Musou either tbh).
It'd need to be something closer to Devil May Cry but slower with heavier swings, more damage etc. IMO
Can you crush 10 people with one swing of your massive sword or split demons in half and shoot them in the face in Demon's Souls? I had no idea.

Not the same thing. I want a Berserk game.
I don't see why Musou doesn't make sense. Gatsu fights lots of enemies at the same time. It's not ideal but I would take anything at this point.
And I suggested Koei because lately they have been making musou games based on manga series (HnK, One Piece).

The costumes are in... the gameplay is not really Berserk like and the monster design isnt even a bit Berserk like. Buying a game just for the costume?

I'm not 100% qualified to answer this, but I'm pretty sure Hokuto Musou is a lot more popular and well-known than Berserk.
If they ever make Berserk Musou, I will be there day 1.

It wasn't really bad. It was so-so, definately no masterpiece.
Glad that the 2nd movie got reviewed alot higher.
It's not THAT bad.
I don't think it would work well. Not only would there would be a ton of issues with age rating and controversy if the developer stayed faithful to the manga, but you can't really make Guts a character that's as responsive as Ryu Hayabusa or OG Dante.
CC2 can have a go at it, I don't mind. Maybe Dimps, if given a proper budget.
The PS2 game OST is pretty neat though, regardless of the game's quality.

I don't know, Gantz has some pretty crazy art at times.
The story has been absolute nonsense since the invasion started, though.
I think those are done with 3D models. Haven't read Gantz in ages. Too much crying and depressing shit, can't handle it. Always feels drained when I read a few chapters.
Miura is unbeatable when it comes to art though, granted that drawing the same characters for over 20 years will make you great at it, but God damn:
Inoue is the only one that comes close, IMO.

Wasnt it absolute nonsense since the beginning? I like how the characters are but the story is just pure bullshit.
I hoped for a really really bad ending of Gantz and then shit seems to turn into a happy end...

It seemed like they were actually building toward something at the beginning. The mystery was compelling, and IMO, continued to be so until the vampire plotline got dropped so Oku could do whatever the hell he wanted.

I always wanted namco to do a fighting with the soul caliber engine, but with blood. Man, sc5 engine would treat it well.
Before release I was hoping Guts was going to be the guest character because of the new movies. Was disappointed.

Ps2 game have a very neat idea of playing action game with giant sword, it's kinda like Guts have a lot of stances depending on the sword location, like press attack button once to swing your sword from right to left, that will leave guts holding the sword on his left side while still allow him to move around and when youress the same attack button from that stance, you got different attack animation.
It really give the heavy feeling of handling giant sword and when your sword hit the enemies it felt very satisfying, its developed by yukes I think, the guys making wwf games.

I've seen some Skyrim mods for Berserk, some to get Guts armor and another one that adds some Berserk quest to Skyrim.

Anyone saying Berserk suck/lostitstouch/went down the drain is just complaining that he/she caught up to the manga and is still waiting, or finding out about the wait, for the next chapter.
If it "lost its edge" because you had 200 chapter to read one after the other and now you have 3 or 4 a year, then that is no excuse.
BTW Anyone that loves Berserk should love, and read, Vinland Saga. Such a great story too, very tragic in its own way, amazing art. Right up there with Berserk and Vagabond for me.
