Get The Master Chief Collection. Play through all the campaigns at Heroic difficulty. You'll be good enough to jump into MP afterwards.

This is an excellent suggestion. There is some major bang for your buck with MCC. There is Reach and Halo CE now, with Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST and Halo 4 to be added in the coming months. Halo also offers smaller arena 4v4 Slayer of Free For All Slayer for tons of reps, fast paced and quick matches, with tons of variants. Then there is Big Team Battle and objective playlists (CTF, etc..) for tons of variety. Reach also has a hoard mode in Firefight, where you and a team fight numerous waves of enemies. Overall, for single player and multi-player, Halo MCC is a great way to go.

Thanks again all. You know, it's not as hard as I thought it was going to be. I'd heard people saying it would take months but I'm less than a week in and it's not too bad. The aiming actually feels much nicer than a pad now, it's just the movement and even that is improving rapidly. It's not like I'm that good with a gamepad anyway, I'm always just mediocre whatever the inputs lol.

I can come mid-table in a deathmatch on CS:GO with deaths only a few above my kills. Quite happy with that so far.

People saying skip online games, I'd say jump right into it.

You learn nothing for single player games, people don't react the same as stupid programmed enemies.

Jump right into cod modern warfare. It has skill based match making, meaning when you lose like 3 games in a row you get to play with people less skilled than you, of course, when you get 3 wins, you play against people better than you. And that is fine, because you only get better by playing against better players.

Also, controllers have high learning curve, keyboard and mouse doesn't. You can get the hang of it within hours or even minutes.

You can do all that with a controller.

Yeah but it's a lot harder without aim it which consoles have.
