Best games for 360 backward compatibility?

Re: Halo 1, on my old 60" SDTV, I get some bad interlacing errors. I'm sure it looks fine on an HDTV or even a EDTV, but when the 480i signal is blown up huge, it doesn't look that great. Panning around makes every other scanline a half step ahead, so it gets a weird stuttering look to it. I fired Halo up on my Xbox1, and didn't see any issues, nor did Halo 2 have any immediate problems. I'm using component cables on both consoles, on the same input.

just tried GTA San Andreas and am pretty impressed. I never tried the xbox version, but everything is much clearer and not as muddy looking as on the PS2 version...

Come on Mercenaries!

Super Monkey Ball DX looks all right. It has slow downs in a few levels but they are apparent on Xbox too. Oh and the controls are horrible, just like they were on Xbox, so it's not a good choice ^^.

I picked up Pariah on the cheap and was pleased to see it on the Xbox 360 compatibility list. The game runs smoothly with no drops in the framerate. It also upscales to 720p so the picture quality is nice.

The game is pretty good, it seems to have gotten passed over with all of the Xbox shooters out there.

Kotor 2 sucks ass on BC, any chance shit like this will ever get fixed? Cause im like 13h into the game and you cant transfer your save files from 360' to Xbox 1 :/

wouldnt that cut into the potential Xbox Live Arcade market?

or was that sarcasm...?

So it's OK for companies to skimp on backwards compatibility wherever it would benefit them? I'm sure people who already own the game for Xbox would like to be able to play it on their 360's.

Simpson's hit and run works perfectly. Ghost Recon Sumit Strike also seems to work perfectly compared to the Xbox (slowdowns in the same place).

Before the launch, I figured that Halo 2 would be the best playing game because that is their baby and all most people still play who play old Xbox games. I have not played much of it but I'd be surprised if it worked less well than other games because I am sure they have put most their resources into getting Halo 2 working perfectly.

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow !!! Wow this game is a lot of fun. I just bought it earlier today and just cut it off for the night after playing 6 hours straight. The stealth, the voices, the REALLY impressive AI....just amazing.

And Chaos Theory is the newest one? Man...already can't wait to play that.

Damned str-8. Look at all the EA games that don't work with BC because there are 360 versions out.

your in for a treat, chaos theory destroys PT

Ninja Gaiden black becomes near unplayable at points, and at others is perfect. Its very wierd because the stuff you would think would chug along (boss fight versus gigantic skeleton thingy or large open areas with alot of baddies) run just fine.. but its the stuff fighting against 2-3 black ninja clan guys in an alley that chugs badly. Sadly enough, those are the parts of the game where a good frame rate is crucial. Fight against Olga is silky smooth however.

I bought the game because I heard it was fixed with BC, but thats far from the case. I never tried it the first time before it was 'fixed' so I can only imagine how bad it was.

Damn, I was looking into picking this up possibly at some point down the road to try the new mission game modes and hurricane packs. I hope they release a new BC update this next week with an update to this, Mercenaries and DOA Ultimate. They better put Black on the list as well!

Totally not true, by the way. The two criteria that the BC team are using when working on the new BC updates are how popular a title is and then they prioritize on how quickly they can make something BC so they can make updates to the list sooner rather than later.

I don't have the most stellar example off the top of my head, but if you look at the list, American Wasteland is BC.

...waiting for the inevitable THAW 360 isn't next-gen post...
