Best games where you murder tons of Nazis

Hahaha just noticed this thread after realizing that one thread was closed.

I kept thinking to myself "it's weird seeing people defend nazis on a vg forum, have they not played any shooter games in the last couple of decades lol"

Damn I realized there is going to be a generation that didn't have the WW2 shooterfest I had. Everything is mostly modern/future warfare these days. Wolfenstein New Order was an interesting take on this.

If you want to blame the SD/SS crimes on the wehrmacht and the waffen-ss, at least bring something to the table.

Paul Hausser killed 900 jews. Army Group South helped the Nazi Interpol. Manstein passed on the Severity Order. Etc. Something like that.

Prior to the war 26% of the on going wehrmacht were members.

Good point. From what I remember in college, there was still scholarly study analyzing the relationship between the Wehrmacht and the Nazis. I guess being one didn't necessarily make you the other.

Anyway, to answer OP's question, yea Wolfenstein TNO can give you that fix. But it's not set in WW2 proper; it's the FPS version of "Man in the High Castle" in a way. (Reimagined future where the Axis powers won WW2).

I also see that the civility in this thread is degenerating pretty quickly....
 
Reminder that the Nazis are the villains in these games not because of their ideological beliefs but rather because of patriotism or nationalism. You know, some of the same reasons that lead to the current rise of the Neo-Nazis.
 
So, no one answered my question. Does anyone know who owns the rights to Hidden & Dangerous and why it is not available to buy anywhere digitally?

yes 100%.
the nazi's were an ugly part of human history.
but generalisations are never helpful and are an insult to any level of intelligent thought.

More like "German soldiers who just followed orders like every other soldier in the world and weren't any more Nazi than you and me" defense force, I guess. I mean, the logic that a party getting into power suddenly means that every single German now shares their ideology (and conversely, that Hitler's death suddenly turned every single living German into a decent human being) is a bit weird. Lumping everyone together is the easiest way to be wrong.

I would assume people who object to this thread do so towards the bloodthirst displayed, regardless of its target. Desiring to murder (not my choice of word, mind: see the thread title) scores of human beings is probably not a particularly healthy impulse. That said, in the context of videogames and their indiscriminate murder of any and everything that breathes, German soldiers during WW2 probably aren't the most pressing concern.

I have a suspicion this is why zombie games have become so popular; they provide an entirely acceptable, guilt-free yet bleeding and human-looking enough target to satisfy those urges. Nazis rank just next to them in the extermination ladder. :D

On the subject, can someone point me towards some games where I can play as Americans and bombard the fuck out of another soveriegn nation and their innocents and then claim it is for world peace? Or should I just keep watching the nightly news?

Start with Spec Ops and you can personally incinerate children and fire automatic weapons at a crowd of civilians in the name of the USA.
 
The Saboteur is pretty fun as its navigation is really interesting and liberating paris from the Nazis (Regaining its color in the process) is extremely fun. You should play that game.

Wolfenstein series! 3D and Return and TNO are best... TNO is incredibly good and modern, so probably the best choice right now.

Me too, I loved this game. Was so surprised by how well the story was told. All of the Brothers in Arms games ended up being way better than I had any hope for.
