So yea, I'm kinda annoyed with the boring one I have on my phone, and no way do I want a long song for my text messages.

So gaffers, what's your text message sound?

I just put the codec on right now. Thanks! But keep the suggestions coming for when i get tired of the codec.

Back in the states I had the Metroid "You got an item" sound.
Here in Japan I have the Dragon Quest "Level Up" sound.

My cousin used a recording of himself quickly saying "MESSAGE!" Fraking hilarious, every time I heard it.

I use the MGS codec for text and phone calls. Texting rings once and cuts it off part of the way through, phone calls keep going.

None because text messages are the biggest rip off in the cell phone industry.
I wouldn't have a social life without them. No one makes phone calls here.

Haha, I understand. However, I have unlimited data plan on my phone to download as much information as I want (with only 200 text messages in and out). With one download, I probably send more information than all the text messages I'm allowed in a month.

Yeah, I pay a bit under approximately $40 USD for my unlimited data. Use so man text messages but having these mobile sites to check train times and other shit is a blessing.

My G/F has the Kim Possible communicator one. Right now I'm using the little sound that plays right as you get ready to boot up No More Heroes on the Wii.

yeah, keitai accesiable train tables are really helpful when you live in inaka. I used them all the time.

Trains in the city come so often I actually never use them anymore, and if I'm going somewhere, I just use a site like ekitan to check from my computer at home.

I have the softbank white plan for my phoone. $12/month phone fee baby! I only receive calls, and rarely text so it's perfect for me. (although I used to text tons)

oh, and I've never had my cell phone on anything but vibrate. sounds are too annoying, but I do like the idea of some of them.
