Those are the weekly BestBuy.com weeklies.

Notice the fact that it bears little resemblance to the actual top 20. (I still find it useful, but it has to be combined with other sources.)

yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if this was more accurate and NPD has really fallen off a hoof...

BestBuy.com has much, much less than a 1% market share and NPD includes ALL of Best Buy (who has a 17% market share). But, believe what you'd like.

It isn't that offbase. It's pretty accurate except the few wierd things like Castlevania and Stubbs the Zombie. If you show up on the list for more than one week you usually do well on the npd

I mean bestbuy.com has a 99% accuracy of bestbuy.com sales (.1% marketshare or not).

My guess with NPD is they have 70-75% accuracy. Every month their estimates are probably more and more off.

They haven't had a full retail count since forever (when did they lose Wal-Mart?). Now they don't have Toys 'R Us either, and don't count lots of independent brick-and-mortar and online sales. Based on the fact that they severely undercounted some RE2/RE3 titles during a reprint they got, I doubt they count Frys. That or when the numbers get small they stop paying attention.
