The Internet really is a weird place..
The hospital allowed it, so I would assume that floor was available to be bought out without creating a capacity problem.
The privacy thing is interesting, but understandable. In a strange way, I actually respect Jay-Z and Beyoncé for doing their best to not make a spectacle out of every damned thing and making sure they have as much control as possible over what gets out to the media.

The ward was closed beforehand though, so it's not quite the same.
Blame the hospital not jay-z. Probably inquired if this was possible and the hospital said yes. Them saying yes implies they can still handle all of their patients without needing that floor, and can make the appropriate changes to make it work. Meanwhile they can have their kid without uncontrolled leaks to the press. They have always been a pretty private couple considering their superstar status. It's cuz they keep their shit private, and I have respect for that.
Now if the hospital heads saw only dollar signs, and patients get harmed by this, then it is their fault entirely. But the request is not ridiculous if the people in charge agree and say they can do it.

The thread isn't just about the renting of the hospital floor. I was responding to the other discussion about the conspiracy theory of Beyonce actually faking her pregnancy. These are at least some of the comments I was responding to.

By the doctor-not-getting-to-patients report and the tape-over-cameras report then yeah, the people who are responsible for that are not suited for running a hospital.
If I learned one thing from House M.D. it's that there's one who cares for the patients and one who cares for the hospitals finances.

Just hire 1 emergency physician (in case of the totally unexpected), 1 Obstetrician, and 2 or 3 nurses and tell them to bring their shit.
Unless there is a concern that she may need a c-section (she certainly shouldn't), it would have cost maybe what? $6k in cash at the most? $10k if they want to give a generous tip? They probably spent $100,000 renting out an entire hospital floor.
