Ever heard of pixels per inch?Let me get this straight. 720p on console = BAD, but console on 5in. screen = GOOD?

This will make me buy a vita, fuck. My wife won't like this.
Im hoping she thinks its my kindle or something and falls asleep before noticing. This could come in great use come baby time in March when all the inlaws will be constantly visiting. Can lock myself in crapper and remote play all while claiming epic diarrhea!!
People that don't understand this feature must not have kids. My daughter is watching Sofia the first right now.. My wife is playing Animal Crossing and I'm playing Wind Waker!
Thank you based Wii U
Can't wait to do the same with my Vita. Of course I would rather be on the TV but it's still so nice.
First I was like LOL, but then I read the username :-(
Imagine them sitting in the living room after you've excused yourself. You think you're sly but meanwhile they hear the sound of the PS4 beep, decide to turn on the TV as your wife lets them know what's up and they see you teabagging a foul mouthed player
How the hell could someone seriously not see the obvious upside to remote play?
Really? Being able to touch a button on the Vita and 5 seconds later be playing a PS4 game on the Vita OLED screen doesn't sound obviously appealing to you for a dozen reasons? As someone else said, if your GF or Wife or Kids want the TV, usually you just have to eat it and let them watch whatever. Now? Just flip that game onto your Vita and continue on.
Need to take a dump in the middle of a fast paced multiplayer match? Flip your screen to your Vita and dump away.
Come on! It is so obvious.
Divorces and sleeping on the couch confirmed?
I think Sony is banking on Remote Play + the catalog of free games that everyone will have because of plus to pick up vita sales over the next couple years.
It's a really interesting strategy that's never been done before. It basically asks every PS4 customer "at what price point do you break?" So right now it's $200. Fall 2014... let's say it's $169 (black friday = $135?) and you have 15 ps+ vita games and a ton of ps4 games to remote play. Do you still hold out? Fall 2015... sub 150 and like 30 PS+ games...?
Oddly I can actually see the Vita turning into the PSP... selling a ton of hardware but not much software. Which is the complete opposite of how it is now (it actually does decently for sony because people who own vitas buy a FUCKLOAD of games... but obviously system sales are low).
Or maybe it will just be ignored and fade into obscurity. It may. Will be interesting to watch though.

Sooooo I can bring my PS4 and Vita on international flights?
Nice!
You just need your Vita if you are flying on a cool enough airline. Or can manage with a Vita game.
No internet in the middle of the Atlantic.
Not a special enough airline.
Dream come true.
Remote play does sound awesome but I wonder what the battery life is gonna be like with the constant WiFi streaming?
I mean the Atlantic ocean.
good show!
If you look at the cutscenes where both the TV and Vita are in view, there looks to be a couple frames of lag. At 60fps, that's only about 33 ms worth. That would actually be pretty reasonable.
Looks pretty good too. Everything looks surprisingly readable considering the drop in resolution to display on Vita.

No they don't. Source?
I'm pretty sure they've said that going through your router can add a minimal lag. Plus there's no way going through the router could be better than a direct connection.
When will Remote Play work best?
Remote Play will work best when the PS Vita system is located within the same WiFi network where PS4 is connected. We also recommend that PS4 be connected to the local area network via an Ethernet cable, that a router suitable for gaming be used and that the PS Vita system be within close proximity of the WiFi access point so that the connection is free of interference.
