- The Bio Hazard series on Wii is NOT a side story game, it is a main stream series game
- Story is straight after Code Veronica (so Code Veronica -> BH Wii -> BH4 -> BH5)
- 3 main characters
- Jill is confirmed, 2 others still not confirmed
- Rumours is that Wesker is the other unconfirmed character
- Game system follows BH4

First time I totally agree with che.chespace said:As long as the game looks as good as RE4.
Also, I have waited 7 years now for them to close the chapter on Umbrella after I was left hanging after.Chris took a harrier jet to France at the end of Code: Veronica

And I'd kill somebody, in front of their own mama, for a game that is all of that and lets me play at Jill while doing so.
But... I REALLY don't want that game on the Wii, unless I can use the GameCube controller to play it. I love my Wii, please don't misunderstand, but I just do not want the game to be "fitted" into the Wiimote + nunchuck control scheme.

Why? I can hardly think of a shooting system better suited to the controller. The Wii falls short when you need rapid "mouselook"-type turning, but for something like RE4 where you're largely aiming within your existing frame of vision, it seems absolutely perfect. They'd have to change almost nothing, and you'd gain accuracy.shidoshi said:But... I REALLY don't want that game on the Wii, unless I can use the GameCube controller to play it. This argument is ill-fated, at best. They can just make you shake the controller instead pushing the button like a madman. In fact, QTE can get more varied thanks to the motion input.shidoshi said:Huh? While the Wiimote + nunchuck can provide most of the buttons and needed joysticks and whatnot of a standard controller, the fact that you have two separate pieces versus one joined unit means that there is a different. For example, the QTEs in RE4. With a Gamecube controller, I can still hold onto the controller with my left hand, set the right side of the controller against my leg, and go crazy on the A button. That can't be done with the Wiimote, because the moment I put it down, there's nothing holding it in place. I know some want to say that the Wiimote + nunchuck can do EVERYTHING a regular controller can, but it can't.
Plus, I have this deep down feeling that we're going to get gun aiming by pointing the Wiimote around. You might want that, but I don't.
cvxfreak said:Story-wise, strictly speaking you'd have to go with RE2 N64, any version of RE3, any version of RECVX and the PS2 version of RE4. Gameplay-wise, any version of RE2 and RE3 will do (though the GC version of RE2 is best due to cut-scene skipping + one disc) and RECVX has faster load times on the GC than PS2. RE4 GC looks better and has superior controls to the PS2 game.
yep, can't praise it enough. two cds to one cartridge and all that really was lost was video quality (of which there aren't many). they added a bunch of cool extras too.The Bookerman said:I have to say that Angel Studios did an.... AMAZING job on the port of RE2 on the n64.
Sure the videos are compressed to hell, but they still looked ok... and all that on one cartridge. I was hoping to see more RE on n64 ... but it got transfered to the cube.

you are. i think it was just that bit about 'fitting' the control scheme to the wii that threw people. it already is a perfect fit.shidoshi said:So why am I not allowed to have my own opinion on this?

I didn't mean to insult. I mean: you're probably not alone in your thinking on this board. I've been seeing "please don't use game X with Wiimote" for a year and a half now, GAF in particular...shidoshi said:So why am I not allowed to have my own opinion on this?
i pity you for not being able to fully enjoy RE4.White Man said:Yeah, I think my opinion of RE4 was doomed from the start because of this. When they decided to yada yada yada that part of the story, I was pretty peeved. After 4 games, it looked like the story was going to be taken to Umbrella's surely awesome home turf, and the end of CV set the wheels in motion, and yada yada yada HEY LOOK RE4!
RE4 was more of a side-story than CV was, damnit.

did you not like the escorting on principal (ie you don't want to have to spend time looking after someone else) or because you felt it wasn't well done?White Man said:Well, I could've lived with the not following up on the narrative of the series if the gameplay held up. And boy, for those first few hours it sure did. The escorting is what totally Menendez-ed the game for me.

i often don't like escort missions, but i'd always hold up re4 as an example of it done right.

Who wishes they gave Ashley a mode where you can just accidentally shoot her a few times and her health regenerates? I think I killed her in every possible way. Her and the merchant. I was glad when the wall sucked her up and I could explore the castle by myself. That and when the bugs grabbed her, I was completely happy. White man, if you didn't get to the island and last parts of the castle, you missed out. Wesker's 2 fights alone are worth the price of admission.
