Any idea what the plot is, as in why your character is down there and what he is trying to accomplish? Tell me it's more than just having to stop a yellow light from blinking and then drowning.

Are you familiar with the work these guys have done previously? I'm sure the plot will be interesting.

According to PELIT magazine, Bioshock doesn't have an inventory system, so basic tools (first aid kits, hacking tools, plasmids, ammo and weapons) aside, you can't store stuff for later use. The author also said the game appeared very linear, as in there wasn't a lot to explore, but that could have just been tactical guidance in the beginning. The new EGM says there's a journal, map and a "mission arrow" (WHY) which suggests a more sprawling level design though. There are also different difficulty levels and harvesting Adam shockingly occurs off-screen.

Are weapon upgrades in? With no inventory they are probably weapon specific which is rather disappointing.

To be honest, you can tell from the videos we've seen that it doesn't have anywhere near the same depth as System Shock 2 in regards to custmization/inventory options. A game like SS2 is impossible to replicate on a console, but these guys need the attention an exclusive PC game will never receive.

I'm just hoping they'll be able to replicate the same kind of atmosphere as SS2, that'll be enough for GOTY.
 
No inventory? :\

Provided they can deliver something that captures the experience of Shock 2, I'll be happy, but it is a bit disappointing to hear of its simplification. Hopefully the game is divided up into small areas (loading screens) as that would REALLY kill the atmosphere.
