Perfect. I'm glad someone made this, if it's you then thanks.

I feel the same way, tried dragon age inquisition and can't stand the ugly and dull character design. something about the eyes they can't get it right. The face expressions are just awfulI tried Dragon Age: Origins as at the time BioWare had a lot of hype and love in the media.
Turns out their games are absolutely not for me. I won't be trying any others.
That's like listing Sonic 1,2 and CD (and Sonic Lost Worlds since you also mentioned DA:Inquisition) and saying "Sonic is still good you guys"
I see your point.
I also think it's pretty ridiculous that the lead designer of BG2 and Neverwinter Nights only does multiplayer games for Bioware now instead of what was supposed to be a Baldur's Gate successor but I suppose he's just not interested in that anymore.
Baldur's Gate is the only Bioware game/series that I have seen near universal praise for. Plenty of people shit on KOTOR (usually while praising KOTOR 2). Same goes for Neverwinter Nights and Jade Empire. Can't blame EA for any of those.
Skip to the sequel if you haven't already. The First game was more about D&D style exploration.
You don't need to play 1 to understand 2. I never played 1 and 2 is one of my favorite games.
Bioware's writing is still way, way better than most developers. OP needs some perspective.

Also which other company tackles gender diversity and sexuality in a respectful manner? They should be commended for extending the boundaries of society and allowing non dudebros something they can perhaps relate to more.
Personally though, even at their worst (DA 2), they're still better than when Obsidian screws the pooch (Dungeon Siege 3, NWN 2 OC, anybody?) but I still love them.
Are you really comparing 20yo games with others that were made in the last 10 years? Wow.
And are you really comparing Sonic: Lost World with DA: I?!
It's ok to not like something, but this is on a whole new level.
If you don't like their games don't keep buying them and whining about it. I think the Mass Effect games helped define the last generation and I loved Dragon Age Origins and am nearly 100 hours into DA Inquisition and loving it. Jade Empire was also a great game in my opinion that needs a sequel. I also love jrpg's but the Bioware and Fallout games are my favourite western RPG's out their. A respectful manner? Everyone in dragon age 2 is bisexual. That's insulting.
In movement doesn't look very hotThat picture is the opposite of what you wrote. Good character design and the eyes look great.

Haha this is splendid. Can we close the thread now? The dagger has been thrown
I didn't know the game only had 4 characters.

Oh, stop. You know damn well I meant every love interest.
I feel more like they exploit it.
ex·ploit
verb
ikˈsploit/
1. make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource).
the hyperbole is getting ridiculous. And creepy writing? lol.
...
That's crazy talk. Neverwinter Nights 2 was still better then DA2, but it is probably Obsidian's weakest game.
Ok this makes more sense. I'll definitely move it up on my backlog then.

Because it was original and unique for its time. The idea of a "Star Wars RPG" with good story and characters still sounds too ambitious to make work, but they did it.
For all the dumb tropes and shit that Mass Effect 1 had, its still the best game Ive played from Bioware. Didnt care for DA 1 and 2 (the little ive played of 3 did not win me over). Mass Effect 2 and 3 were too busy rushing towards the lowest common denominator. Kotor bored the hell out of me. Once I got to the sith planet I couldnt stand it anymore and quit.
Probably the reason ME 1 was so good was because I boogied with garrus and wrex fucking people up and having a grand old time.
You're gonna quote a fucking dictionary at me and pretend like the word 'exploit' doesn't have multiple definitions? What's the difference, in your opinion?
Out of a party of nine, I fail to see the insult.
KOTOR was a classic, but BioWare has just been riding its coattails and essentially making the same game in a different setting for over a decade now.

So do you think it's just a coincidence, or...?
Aside from Kotor those bits of the game add up to about 20 or so minutes, tops.
The problem lies in the perception that it's a significant part, whether this is put out there by their current fanbase or marketing.
That doesn't make their writing not shit.
I view them very similarly. They both have half a cast of interesting characters, and real heart deep down. They each tried to do some interesting things that falls flat on their face. Pretty much everything about it kind of sucks and drags it down, but it has that soul I can appreciate.
Obviously I'm not including Mask of the Betrayer here.
How is that insulting?A respectful manner? Everyone in dragon age 2 is bisexual. That's insulting.
As someone with a graduate degree in literature, I've seen people argue that anyone from Faulkner to Hemingway to Morrison to Chaucer is shit. Opinions like that are usually pointless contrarianism; in the context of videogames, talking about Bioware having "shit" writing fits that description. Every Bioware game has at least several well-rounded, realistic characters with complex, multi-layered motivations that are expressed a believable manner. That alone makes it among the best developers when it comes to writing, and something other developers should aspire to.
If they had stayed PC exclusive, their games would have rocked! Or something like that.
Damn console plebes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because I feel like their use of sexuality as a defining character trait is overly pervasive. It feels like they're trying to meet a "Diversity quota".Could you describe how it's use benefits Bioware unfairly, though? At the expense of who?
Not a fan of their pathological need to shoe-horn romance into everything
