Does Blaster Master Overdrive need Classic Controller support?

I'm still working to get Blaster Master Overdrive patched (free download if you already have it) to include Classic Controller support, but I need YOU to sign the poll here if you think the game needs it (duh, but humor me and let's make this happen).

If you'd like to talk about how you enjoyed the game *except* for the missing CC support, that might be useful as well.

Still no guarantees, but I *am* working on making this happen, and even if it doesn't work out, a good show of support for the controller will help with future releases. Sign and tell your friends who have Wiis and have or want Blaster Master Overdrive to sign, too!

1 vote for CC. I like the game in general, but I have a little trouble with the b button because my hands are too big. I bump the B button when I don't want to.
 
Thanks Vic for reaching out to us and I'll gladly sign.

Now I had a great time with the game even though the controls took a second to get used to. Not only would CC support be great but a button configuration for both CC and WiiMote would be great as well. Just make sure that you can map different items and weapons to various buttons because that would make the controls a lot more comfortable.

Put me down as another vote for the Classic Controller.

Overdrive is a great game and an outstanding update to one of my favorite NES titles, but it really needs CC support. That B button strafing is awkward at best.

I'm anticipating a patched version.
 
Signed, have read about complaints about the Wiimote control scheme so CC support would be golden. How about remappable controls too, or is that already in? Being able to remap stuff is always great.

I don't know about the whole caps lock thing, but I can get behind CC support. It's a little silly they didn't include it to begin with.

edit: It's worth mentioning I haven't purchased the game yet, and CC support could very well be the thing to push me over the top.
 
Obviously since I beat it without trouble using the Wii Remote turned sideways I can't in good faith vote for an option that says NEEDS in it. If there had been a third option saying Wii Remote control is fine but would you have liked the option of CC support I definitely would have gone for that one.

I've got huge hands as well so I just don't buy the argument that it is overly uncomfortable or unwieldy, you just need to take the time and position your hands right!

I put a vote for CC even though I haven't played it yet (AND I WONDER WHY HUH) because I would very much prefer playing it with that if there's no motion controls. The Wiimote D-pad starts hurting my thumb after a while (I have some problem with my thumb) and the CC's bigger D-pad makes up for it.

In addition, I should know enough to be against strafing with the B button. CC support for Europe please!
 
I don't even have a Wii anymore, but for God's sake you need to have a classic controller option for that game. Even I can see that. And for the record, I used to have a Wii and I know how clunky using a sideways Wii remote can be. I can definitely see not liking to play that way with a game like Blaster Master.

But aside from that, the game looks pretty awesome otherwise.
 
The problem isn't just that it doesn't support CC, but that the button mappings for the Wii-mote are horrible. You have to hold down B to strafe during the overhead missions, and it is vital that you do it for long periods of time. Please add control options as well.
 
It would be nice to be able to swap weapons without taking thumb off the d-pad.

While we're at it, why are the cancel button and the accept button swapped? I have to concentrate on select screens.
 
... This is the first time in 2 years that I have seen someone use the poll option here. I always somewhat wondered if it even worked... Er, I'll sign, but <insert internet partetions never work argurment ect ect ect>

Edit: Wait, is Vic someone of actual importance and not a random message board poster making a poll that will ammount to nothing?

Does he happen to have extra copies of the manauls to Albert Odyssey or Raystorm he could send me, my copies didn't come with them :/

Albert Odyssey didn't even come with a case, but by pure luck someone used the case of it to hold a copy of the Nights Demo disk they sent me with a Sega Saturn Lot


Hey, does the digital manual to Blaster Master: Overdrive have a writen letter from Vic in it? And if not, can THAT be patched in :lol

No, but the game overview stuff he wrote IS pretty damn funny though. You can check out the operations manual from the Shop Channel, even if you haven't bought the game.
 
I'd vote in this, but I haven't played the game for myself, so I wouldn't really feel right if I did vote.

Edit: same thing about 480p.
