Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm announced

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Do we know anything about this game other than that flash animation? Or am I to be left squeeing in ignorance?

I just hope it isn't another e-sports game like dota 2/lol. Something that is actually fun to play and isn't a breeding ground for a toxic community like lol and dota 2 are, would be very nice.

Indeed, maybe if they used this style it would be easier for especially new players to be able to tell apart spells, heroes, abilities etc. And Blizzard would be able to introduce people who are intimidated by DOTA/LoL to try out the genre.

These days MOBA games have so much detail, for a non hardcore player its pretty hard to see what is going on in intense situations when spells and shit starts going off its like Chinese New Year going off on your monitor

I'm a bit surprised at how cheap the trailer-or-whatever-they're-calling-it was though. Blizzcon is right around the corner, so I'm guessing we'll get a lot more info then.
Wonder if that trailer really is an indication of the art direction they will be going with.
Uh... I hope that's not the graphics style of the actual game.
I hope the art direction is like the trailer in the game
Now i wonder about the art style of this....

Are they going to pull a TF2?
That's the worst Blizzard CG movie I've ever seen.
You guys need to familiarize yourselves with Carbot. Made lots of cartoons before Blizz commissioned him to do fun little promotional videos for mostly social media announcements. Has nothing to do with what will appear in-game.

If it's F2P I'll try but I'm willing to bet this'll follow the LoL model over the Dota2 one, which is a big turn off for me.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I think they know they are going to want to draw heavily from LoL's userbase and aggressively challenge that game.

ah so this was the secret project carbot was working on :)
I think blizzard were pretty incompetent in dealing with dota, I mean for god's sake they had at least 5 or 6 years to capitalise on making their own dota, but they let riot and valve take the spotlight.

It probably wasn't a priority for them.

I still think that it was pretty much easy money for the taking, it wouldn't have take that much effort to make a dota side project. Same thing occurred for brood war and how it pretty much became a national sport in south korea, blizzard didn't bat an eyelid for like 10 years and the only time they did, they pretty much killed it off. Not to mention sc2's horrible mismanagement, despite however much I love the game.

Pretty poor name choice given the other HotS, but I have high hopes for this game. I'm still a very big Blizzard fan. They've got some great characters to use in a MOBA game.

If Blizzard has any hopes for the game, this will probably be its major selling point.

All they need to do is add hooks from their other games to earn cosmetic items in Heroes. The new b.net beta client (preceded by realID initiative) speaks to them wanting an even more cohesive ecosystem. I think their model with be closer to LoL's, enhanced by cosmetic rewards tied to playing other Blizzard games. (Something like, Beat D3 on Inferno, get a weapon or costume for that class in Heroes...Clear a new raid in WoW, get a limited availability costume in Heroes...etc) Blizzard is getting "paid" through encouraging people to spend more time in their games or, for WoW, on subscriptions.

I dont know. In comparison I'd rather have balls.

Well, with their penchant for H..S names for games as of late, maybe we should call this one HeroStorm.

HeartSwarm
HearthStone
HeroStorm

HotS doesn't bother since Legacy of the Void is coming out. So it will be either that or...SC2. Don't see the issue.

Now lets see gameplay of this.

Looks like a 5v5v5 DotA, which should be incredibly interesting strategically.

There might be a place for this game after...

Now that Blizzard seems to reveal their games before BlizzCon, could that mean we'll actually see something on Titan?

That would indeed suck.

If I had to guess, I think it'll have all the champions available with options for cosmetics (like costumes). I don't think they'll make you pay for the champions because that wouldn't be smart, why pay for it when HoN's champions are all available (but it's Blizzard, so who knows)

Didn't the Titan project basically get reset? I doubt we'll hear anything about it for a long time.

It got somewhat reset yes. I was just wondering about a possible reveal as Blizzard seem to running out of ammo before the show. Ofc, we'll get more gameplay and so on. But what about the surprises?! :(

Ok, I'm happy if they announce an extra class for RoS.

I doubt they'll even talk about it with Heroes of the Storm, Diablo 3 expansion, SC2 expansion and the next WoW expansion. Maybe next year...maybe.

I am right there with you :(

Don't forget the unleashing of the HearthStone Open Beta. That'll get some hype.

Where are you getting this info from?

I would speculate that it's the "O" in the logo + the 3 characters fighting in the new trailer. I doubt this'll be the case and believe the 3 lines making up the "O" in the logo just represent the 3 roles in the game (tank, support, dps). That's just speculation.
