I think it is about time we started an official thread. While the WoW thread was alright, most of us are expecting a lot of news about SC2 and hopefully D3.

I hope those rumors were true and you don't have to lvl the death knight 1-80. I think they should have a quest you can complete at lvl 80 that unlocks death knight that starts in greens and is lvl 68. If they do start at lvl 1 I hope you get bonus xp or something based on the lvls of your other characters.

you guys are dreaming, ppl who rerolled BEs and Draenei had to lvl just like everyone else did, nothing will change imo
 
I'd like to see them make it easier, but no idea why they would bother. Anyway, hopefully they'll add something in the expansion to make the game worth coming back to.
 
They will speed up the 1-60 content in some way shape or form. They still want the game to be accessible to new players when the cap is level 80. Most MMOs go this route eventually and it makes sense.

And there is no way they are announcing Diablo 3. Blizzard already has enough on their table. Maybe after Starcraft 2 is released they will start working on a Diablo game.

I'm so glad i quit before TBC was released! I feel like I just saved another 12 months of my life!
 
I'm sure work continues on Diablo 3, but chances of seeing it this weekend? Slim to none. They won't announce more than one thing at the same time, that's nuts. If Diablo 3 info is floating around nobody is going to care about Wrath.

Sorry to hear they took out Tempest and put vanilla carriers back in...where did you find that momo? Curious to hear why they did that.

Some of the people competing in the Starcraft matches/WoW matches were allowed to play Starcraft 2 yesterday.

Protoss and Terran are both playable at blizzcon. Zerg is still concept and in development

I don't really agree with your assessment. The new WoW expansion was expected. It isn't even a surprise. Saying no one will care about it is just laughable given its popularity worldwide.

Diablo 3 can still make a presence without disrupting the other two games. Blizzard needs it to happen because they promised 3 new project announcements this year, and with the x-pac, we are at 2.

Well. I certainly hope you're right. I want Diablo 3 as much as the next guy. But that is a very un-Blizzard promise to make and I am dubious of its authenticity.

We'll find out in...what...30 minutes? So no need to argue. Just sayin'.

I found this story on Joy.stiq:

According to the Blizzard Chief Operation Officer Paul Sams, there will be a "major project announcement in 2007." No clue on when or what title, but Sams did provide IGN with another tasty quote,

"StarCraft is my absolutely favorite game of all time. As you probably already know, there is no doubt that we will continue the StarCraft and Diablo franchise, and trust me, I will be the happiest person in the world when we announce StarCraft 2."

Blizzard currently has three other titles in the works, excluding the aforementioned "major project" set for a 2007 unveiling. Of those four, we expect one to be another expansion for World of Warcraft. Is Blizzard working on sequels to StarCraft and Diablo 2? Of course they are, they'd be a fool not to continue those franchises.

Regardless of what title is announced, it will likely take years before we see anything tangible. Blizzard is notoriously secretive, but have a very envious track record with their projects.

And I remember reading that they four games in the works. That I don't doubt. I'm sure D3 has been in development for years. But if anything this implies there will not be another major project announcement since Starcraft 2 certainly meets that qualification.

Sounds like rumors Blizzcon attendees would get to take their characters into the first zone and instance of Northrend are probably false.

I've seen the top part of that artwork before. Never the whole thing though. 4th race pretty much confirmed (though not necessarily playable).
