Blue Origin explodes during test

One news programme here in the UK announced this with glee and how China might beat the US to the Moon because their recent rocket launched successfully. I'm fucking sick of it.

Yeah, the US helped stymy our own rocket programme decades ago, but I just hate the pettiness and loathing.

The US are operating in space while the UK does piss all. The same people will happily talk about 'us' when it goes well though like with Artemis.
It's funny how countries like the UK and Canada always hate and laugh at us, but we don't really think about them at all.

White supremacy?

1. So anyone can just go fire rockets off?

2. Why don't these fuckers do something worthwhile with their money?
1. Only those with approval from the government where they launch. Private spaceflight is tightly integrated with governments.

2. Many people would say finding a way for humanity to leave the confines of earth is the only worthwhile endeavor at this point.

Leftist magazines in Germany are exactly the same. Doers vs. Don'ters.

Spacex raised the bar so much we expect this to never happen. And tbh this also happened to them but they had more facilities.
Let's see if they recover from this.

remember your carbon footprint and not using plastic straws while billionaire assholes like bezos are allowed to blow up rockets like this
As impressive as that explosion is, I bet the carbon footprint is exceeded by the cars in a fairly small town.

Though this was a methane fuel load, apparently, which does combust with CO2 as a major part of the end reaction, but really, the load released is the same whether it takes off or blows up on the ground, high atmospheric CO2 is probably more harmful anyway.
