I have been searching and searching online for the name of the Sequel that was in
talking/planning stages at one time, I know there was a name for it like "Red" something.
I am trying to find out the name of it.

I know I will never get a sequel to this game but it sure would be cool.

I WISH there was a sequel to Blue Stinger, what a freaking cool game. I think I beat that game over 100 times, the speed running was super cool too.

Fun game with some wonky glitches

Also, I really never understood the ending, someone explain it to me.

Is Nephlim really evil? Because when it went into outer space it transformed into that thing that shoots off those evil eggs that inevitably turned into that final boss.

I dun getz it.

Illbleed was announced as the "successor" to Blue Stinger. So yes, you were dreaming it

Dude...Illbleed...I totally wanted to play that back in the day! I still kind of do, really, despite the fact that I haven't heard a single good thing about it.

Edit: I just pulled some videos up on youtube and it looks so awesomely bad. I'd try it. Illbleed has Hassy cola in it anyway, even if it's nothing like Blue Stinger.

This thread actually got to thinking about something. The RE clones that remained exclusive to Sega platforms never got sequels.

Deep Fear(which I imported and liked), Blue Stinger(also imported, blood and nudity FTW), that one on the Carrier, D2(course, this one didn't have much chance anyway).

It was a Japanese launch game but never made it to the western market. Apparantly it was pretty bad

A sequel to Blue Stinger was in the planning stages before Climax Graphics was absorbed into Cavia and subsequently, AQ Interactive. The untimely death of Shinya Nishigaki means that a true sequel will never see the light of day, unfortunately.

The sequel was under the project name "Blood Stinger".

At the time, in 2002, it was being planned for PS2. CG was falling apart financially though and was having trouble financing the project. I don't think Cavia had any interest in the project and it was ultimately shelved.

The only thing I can remember right off the top of my head is that there was a grocery store section in the game with a bunch of mutants milling about.
In the Japanese version there was a back room for porn, there were posters of half naked chicks and blood was everywhere. In the American version the posters were changed and the blood was cleaned up.
