I am on campus in hiding as I type. First shooter killed a professor and there is a second professor in another building as we speak. There are reports that he has hostages but nothing confirmed. Two shooters are confirmed however. The professor who was killed was a great teacher but a better man who is leaving behind his wife and three young children. It is heart breaking to hear about this as he was a favorite of mine. Keep us in your prayers please. We'd greatly appreciate it.

Many of the recent high profile shootings are on schools or by college students. Isla Vista, Sandy Hook, Aurora CO. I am wondering what makes a young person take a gun to a school and want to kill others. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Because schools are where people congregate, and they have a weapon that is very easy to get, even encouraged to own, that can kill a lot of people very quickly.

Pretty simple imo - ban guns going forward, tax ammo heavily, institute a gun exchange program for a price that sets the incentive correctly.
