I believe in Unions. I don't know how unions ended up the way they did in America, but I know they are a force of good in protecting people.
I'll do you one further- We need unions that protect sex workers.
As human beings, we're completely incapable of separating sexual lust from ourselves. Deprevation is always at the gates, and porn and prostitutes are along the edge of the lines between things society shuns as failures and outcasts, yet at the same time; hypocritically fetishizes and obsesses over to no end.
Women (and men) who choose to use their body for a form of entertainment or outlet for others, is in my mind, almost akin to athletes. There are regulations, protections, trials, supervisions, conduct and tests that needs to be maintained to protect the athlete from themselves and others.
There are millions and millions of people in the world who- for many reasons are unable to ever get a sexual outlet; physical or mental problems, or other demons; professional sex workers make a difference for these people as someone who can go in and give some sort of physical intimacy. Society likes to think that people who are disabled or disfigured don't have sexual outlets or that they can just hop on some handicap tinder and get laid.
If society would recognize the work for what it is instead of being harmful in its condemnation of sexual urges that almost everyone partakes in.
We don't need to get to a place where little girl wants to be pornstars when they grow up, but the least we could do is not act like a bunch of hypocritical cunts just because someone does porn. You hear stories about adult actresses being denied a bank account- it's flat out discrimination, and it pushes these women (and some men) into positions of abuse.
Fine, if you think they're gross- That's your provocative and sensibilities, but why the need to hurt them? These women are not hurting anybody and they don't deserve to be denied the same rights in society because they fuck on camera for money.
