Bruce Lee vs. Wladimir Klitschko - GO!

So I've had this argument with my girlfriend about who would win in a fight. She says Bruce Lee and 3 of our friends agree with her. There's just one other person who's got my back and thinks Klitschko would win.

Let's not make this about character and sympathy but about facts. I like Bruce Lee more but it's so obvious to me that Klitschko's sheer mass would crush the poor guy.

This thread will not end well, given previous Bruce Lee/MMA sorts of discussions we've had in the past. It will get derailed at some point.

It really depends. If Bruce kicks his face off, well, he wins. If Bruce gets locked up, it could get ugly for him.
 
Wladimir never does anything, so Bruce Lee all the way.

that constant grabbing and hopping around won't help Wladimir much.
 
Bruce lee was a great martial artist, but a huge part of it was also movies. People need to stop with this crap. He wasn't this fierce guy who could beat up anyone. The same way Jet Li isn't. Please stop.

Yeah, but Klitschko is a pretty boring actor. I barely remembered him in Ocean's Eleven.

However, Bruce Lee has been in quite a few street fights, so he knows how to get down-and-dirty.

Apparently, Bruce Lee beat up a son of a triad family.

If it was a straight boxing match, Klitschko would win via jab of death (from boredom).

In a street fight, Lee would chop him down.

Bruce Lee is one of my idols, but you have to be real here.

Bruce Lee is an actor with martial arts experience, Wladimir is a heavyweight champion boxer, and one of the most dominant of all time.

Seeing how rampant cross-training is in MMA, I would expect the average LW to win a fight against Lee, honestly.

Not to say that Lee isn't a legend.
 
bruce lee would win because his style is no style, he'd do anything to win, but with rules, maybe this boxer.

He weighed 165lbs at his heaviest. He'd get torn apart outside of insane Lee fan theories.

When was the last time ANYONE did bruce lee movies in MMA? It's movies, its art. It's not practical.

This is a stupid argument. It's a joke to think Bruce Lee would stand a chance in hell against Klitschko. Not to mention the HUGE size, weight, and strength difference. It'd be like your 5 year old son, who's super agile and trained in karate, picking a fight with you.

He may kick you in the shins and he may look cool but you would absolutely demolish his face into something undescribable the moment you took the fight seriously.

Fanboys are stupid. There's a reason they have weight classes in professional sports. It DOES may that big of a difference. Heavyweight vs a flyweight..ya, funny.

He could go for his feet, ankles, or knees. He could attack the groin and gouge his eyes. I mean I know this other guy is a big dude, but every human being has spots that are susceptible to attack. He may have built himself up and limited his susceptibility, but you can't train your balls into becoming armor. With that said, Klitschko would probably murder Bruce then eat Brandon and Shannon.

His biggest disadvantage would be the height difference. Klitschko is 12 inches taller and also has a 12 inches bigger reach than Bruce is tall. Lee is faster and more agile of course, probably even more precise. He would probably go for Klitschkos knees and groin and since Klitschko isn't used to attacks below his stomach area he would have a hard time defending himself.
So if Lee can hit his legs and force him down Klitschko is done. No doubt even Lees punches to the head could knock out Klitschko. But as long as Klitschko can prevent leg attacks he has a good chance just outpunching Lee.

I say 60-40 in favor of Klitschko.

You're funny. Why does no one in MMA practice Lee's fighting style? Why do ALL MMA fighters practice boxing? Lee would never get in close enough to even kick klitschko. Lee may be fast but do you honestly think he's going to dodge everything klitschko does? He's going to have to block and that's going to end up in a broken arm. Hell, even a kick from a man as large as Klitschko is going to put a world of hurt..not that he needs to kick..he's going to jab and jab and jab and each one of those jabs will be an instant knock out if it connects.

Or do you think Lee is going to do spinning backflips over his head, and shit like that? Maybe go Super Saiyen and then become "The One" so he can slow time down and stop bullets.

I'd imagine an experience/endurance difference too. Klitschko makes his living by getting hit in the face and body by people of equal size and strength repeatedly. I'm not even sure one of Lee's punches to the head is a sure knock-out as the guy you quoted seems to think.
 
If we had a time machine and dropped Bruce Lee in from his most peak physique, he would still lose.

When people look at match ups, they place belief over physics. These two gentlemen are of different weight classes and one has the added advantage of a greater diversity of opponents and modern training.

Everybody is practicing Lee's fighting style since he was basically the one inventing the concept. Lee wouldn't go in for a boxing fight, standing there and exchanging blows with Klitschko, he would try to make this a short one-two-three knockout fight. His first attack would be directed at Klitschkos knees and groin and as soon as Klitschko would cover the distance to box, Lee would slip in rendering Klitschkos arms useless and use everything at his disposal to just hack Klitschko down.
 
If you're gonna put Bruce Lee up against a boxer at least put him against someone with a similar weight.

But for the record, Bruce Lee would probably kick Wladimir in the legs over and over and over until he couldn't stand up anymore.
