D3 next?
They should port this to console/steam until D3 is ready:Should have happened 5 years ago and should be launching Destiny 3 right now.
Aside from the the entire first portion of the destiny 2 story that is missing, yes!Ok, now i can buy and play every single content of the game and enjoy it at my own pace?
right?
Still tethered to their servers so i wouldn't trust that too muchOk, now i can buy and play every single content of the game and enjoy it at my own pace?

No, they claim some stuff like the Red War Campaign doesn't even exist anymore.Question: is bungie going to restore the cut content people bought? Did that already happen?
They should've had D3 in an early development / concepting phase back in like 2021 when they were planning for The Final Shape to end the big story arc they had been telling. This end of service message should have been accompanied by a "We will share the next adventure soon!" Instead of "we're starting to concept some stuff for unknown new games now!"
Could be why we are live. Have at it fella.I'm actually fuming
Unreal that Sony spent a few billion to aquire Bungie and they became a raging dumpster fire not long after.
They'll start D3 if they haven't already, the rest of the studio will be tasked with turning Marathon around. If they don't succeed D3 won't even get out of pre-production and it's curtains.Prediction: The next Bungie game will be a super safe nostalgia trip
From the language they used, D3 really doesn't even sound like a guarantee. They'll start D3 if they haven't already, the rest of the studio will be tasked with turning Marathon around. If they don't succeed D3 won't even get out of pre-production and it's curtains.
Bungie has always been a mess. Starting back in the Halo days, they were just better at hiding it.Unreal that Sony spent a few billion to aquire Bungie and they became a raging dumpster fire not long after.
Oh, their totally new franchise, Balo.Prediction: The next Bungie game will be a super safe nostalgia trip
OrEither they are going all in on Marathon, or Destiny 3.
Really? I got the oposite. This bit reads like they are already working on it.From the language they used, D3 really doesn't even sound like a guarantee.

Why would they mention Marathon in a Destiny blog post? The fact that the statement says they will "begin work incubating our next games" rather than talking about having one or more projects in active development means huge layoffs are coming, imho.
Sony probably going to strip the studio back to just the core legacy talent and let all the junior/support staff go, and basically do a hard reboot.
No mention of Marathon probably bodes poorly for that game's future as well, though I suppose it could just be that there's no overlap between the Marathon and Destiny 2 teams. Though even in that case it's pretty weird not to mention their other major title at all in a statement like this.
