You're putting money into a dead platform. Don't really recommend it unless you're absolutely certain there's nothing else you'd play on the Switch this year.

If you can find a WiiU for 50 bucks, just buy a new system.

It is Nintendo, do not expect a price drop anytime soon. They are notorious for that.
(not interested in smash, Mario Kart or Splatoon)

"Not interested in Splatoon"
That's what my boyfriend said and then...![]()
Translation: first number is total play time, second number is times played.
Now if I had charged him 50 cents per hour played, the thing would have paid off with profit by now.
LOL? I own a WiiU, and if someone offered one for 50 bucks I'd buy a second one in a heartbeat.
You know I am gonna be pissed when Mario Odyssey drops.
If only there wasn't a severe shortage in Switch Stock...
Which would be the same as if someone was buying games for any other platform not being actively supported.
IMO a Wii U is worth it even now but at the right price. Case in point, and to repeat something I posted in a similar thread today, yesterday I bought a black 32gb Wii U with Mario 3d world, Nintendoland, and Mario Kart 8 for $150 . If you can grab a deal like that or better, then I believe it's worth it. I certainly wouldn't invest $200( like what Nintendo is selling it for on their site) unless it came with a shit-ton of games and/or accessories.
Bad idea, I loved the Wii U but I personally believe a lot of it's noteworthy library will be ported to switch in time.
Switch is out of stock & pricey where I am.
I was thinking of buying a Wii U primarily for BoTW ,and then possibly Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD.
Good or bad idea ?
Those are amazing masterpieces ,but I don't wanna regret it later..What to do ?
EDIT : Guy is offering $270 Canadian.(200 USD)
Wind Waker
Mario 3D World
Pro Controller
32GB Wii U.He says WW and 3DW are ''tried to hardware'' ? How does redownloading work on a Wii U ? Is it tied to his account ?
....and do what with?

I just don't have the energy or time to play MP games.
OP one more suggestion:
Xenoblade Chronicles X
It's weirdly hit and miss for people, but in retrospect it feels like some kind of Breath of the Wild prototype to me. I loved it when it came out already by the way, put well over 80 hours into it but never finished it. I hope I get to eventually.
Well yea they basically gave it you, but how likely is it OP can replicate that deal?

I suspect alot of people are going to be dumping their Wii U for the Switch, so now's a great time to check out your local CL or similar classified. The person wanted $175 and I talked them down to $150. I mean , I got a good deal but not nothing that couldn't be found elsewhere with a little bit of hunting around.

Wii U are just as expensive and hard to find as Switch unless you know someone you can buy one from cheap. It makes little sense to get one when the best exclusives all seem to be going switch in the next year or two.
This is what I'm doing. Hoping for the prices to drop a bit more, there are some around 150 in my area already but I'm hoping for it to go lower.
Oh and for this, pretty sure you lose access to those games if you wiped the sellers profile off( or they have Nintendo do it after the sale). If I were you, I'd negotiate the sale to not include those games 'value' if that's what the seller is trying to do.

Unless you have insider knowledge, no they aren't.
