Call of Duty: Ghosts enables offline play

I'll just echo the disappointment on no 4-player splitscreen. To my knowledge, then, doesn't that leave Halo as the only big shooter franchise with 4-player split?

Dat mandatory install is like a baseball bat hit to the knees.

I hope there's not too many games like this, would mean that basically 10 games will full a 500GB HDD. :/

Are people actually going to buy this bullshit game?

New modes, new class system, leaning and sliding, new customization, the return of MW3's Assault-Support-Specialist pointstreak system which rewards playing the objective just as much as getting kills do, seemingly some of the fastest gameplay CoD has ever had even in comparison to MW3's frantic pace, the first high budget videogame about a canine protagonist (not just as a side character but as THE main character), astronaut terrorists, Megan Fox, and aliens.

Yeah people are gonna buy this awesome-as-balls game.

Also:

+ NO deathstreaks. Players are no longer rewarded for doing terribly.

+ Dedicated servers

I'm not sure why. There are going to be games, like Destiny and Titanfall, that are online-only and there needs to be a way to inform customers of the difference.
Its not informing people that gets to me its the fact its a feature.

Either way it is what it is

Im really worried about this, pretty bad networking problem in my house considering my router is the living room and my PS4 will be in the basement. I can't run a direct line to the PS4 and the distance between the two is probably going to create latency issues.

The plug type is pretty common on the PS3, so much so that I have like 4 AC cables that fit. So I'm able to move my machine around as needed from living room to bedroom. Not an ideal solution for you, but perhaps you can have a spot where you can hard like it to your router just for remote play purposes.

You plan on playing those 10 games simultaneously?

Just delete data of some older games, it's hard.

Remote play is part of OS. doesn't require any resource at all.
And the notification is there more for when it ISN'T there, so you know a game doesn't support it.

And I wonder if this may be about offline MULTIPLAYER? People need to find other boxes of games supposed to allow you to play with other people and see if it notes that, like sports games or Skylanders. Skylanders may not be as great though given that's also an Activision game and probably has the same teams involved with the packaging or at least how they're labeled.

No. They are not. That's why it says 1-2 players....

You've got to be kidding me.

Why isn't there a bigger uproar about this? What the hell? How can they NOT manage 4-player split screen on these new consoles!?

Did we ever get confirmation on if dedicated servers are nextgen versions only? I saw a couple people who got early copies on 360 say that it didn't look like dedicated servers there (host migrations, etc) but I hadn't been following that aspect at all.

Edit: Holy fucking shit, I just found out that the current-gen versions don't have Ground War, multiplayer caps at 6v6. I may literally have a pre-order cancelled moment here. That was all we played in the past games.

I'm pretty sure you can do remote play without a router. Kinda like adhoc or whatever

Also wtf on that 1-2 players bullshit. I only buy cod bc of local multiplayer, otherwise I'd just play Battlefield! Shame Activision, u might lose my munnies now

You all are forgetting that 3rd party pubs have control over the "ONLINE REQUIRED" or whatnot. NOT SONY. And SONY first party are committing to staying "ONLINE NOT REQUIRED".
