Call of Duty: Ghosts online multiplayer discussion thread

Currently on an 81 game winstreak; god I hope I can hit 100.

Whats your strategy to winning so many games in a row?

Is there a certain gametype? Are you always playing with friends / other good players?

Is there a way to back-out without taking a loss?

My highest win streak is 26 and that was just me playing solo TDM

Don't do that.

I've got a glitch affecting custom game recipes. I've restricted loadouts and created a number of custom loadouts, for each team. The problem is when you get into the game, the loadout you choose is not actually the loadout you get when the game starts. For example when I pick the loadout I made called Assault rifle, that clearly shows an assault rifle, it starts me off with another loadout and another weapon altogether. Also what's weird is I named all the loadouts, but the first one always is displayed as Loadout 1.

Where is the best place to make this issue known to IW? Their forum? I can't even figure out how to make threads there. =
Did you select that char to be default char for matches? Like pressing square for ps3/4 or x for xbox

Playing infected can get you a 1000+ win streak if you are good at it.

I'm taking a break from this game. I'm going to wait and see what Infinity Ward does with future patches. I'm so sick of people spawning behind me and in some cases in front of me. I can't stand getting killed by IEDs as it really hard to get away from them if you are not using Sitrep. Dead Silence doesn't even work right as you can still hear people using it!! Just a really frustrating game to play.

There's nothing majorly wrong with the spawns. I've played the game for over 24 hours and rarely did I spawn behind someone or someone spawned behind me. Rarely.

As for the IED problem, there's a solution to it that you already mentioned. Use it.

If you're rushing around a lot use the IMS instead. Dog is great if you camp because people will turn corners and get bitten but if you run around it will fall behind you and often times it ends up getting killed from someone that sees you running past then the dog chasing you or you getting killed on a long LoS = dead dog.

i dont use assault killstreaks at all in this game, mostly support like ammo, flak jacket, maaws. I dont try and rush around a whole lot either as leads to me taking shots in the spine, but i also find camping in one area boring. the dog killstreak just seems incredibly useless to me for whatever reason. But then i get ganked by it going for an objective or shooting it sill and still having it nom on my neck. I do see how it can be good but it doesnt play like that for me. thanks though.

Yes... But in these custom games I've restricted loadouts to just the ones I specifically made for that custom game. So the character's personal loadouts are all locked. The problem is the custom game loadouts are screwed up. And like I said they're fine in offline local play, but they're fucked in online private matches.

It's very weird.

**All based off playing solo or with 1 other person.
**W/L is irrelevant. It is just how much you play with a party.
**Leaderboards DO matter though. You need captures/defends for me to consider your K/D to be any good. Same with plants or dog tags etc... If you don't play objective, you suck.

EDIT: Also people who dashboard/turn off their console when they have a poor game suck too. If you care about stats that much, it's just sad and you're not as good as your numbers say due to the fact that you turn off your console on bad games.

lol, NO. This is coming from someone that's sitting on a 3.74 playing almost entirely solo. Take every single number on that scale and knock it down 1 and your post would be a lot more accurate, except for the Search ones, which is actually a decent representation.

Also, most people sitting on absurd 5+ K/Ds are really just 2 or 3 K/D players who have the luxury of constantly playing with a good team. Put them in a solo setting and you see they're nowhere as good as their stats suggest--see it all the time.

Am I the only one that thinks this is the best COD online yet?

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed an online FPS game so much.

I'm sure you'll find plenty that agree with you.

The gunplay is great. But for me, the maps are horrendous and the spawn issues are still a problem.

I've grown into the game more and FINALLY found a weapon combination that I enjoy, but that absence of reliable long-range burst gun really hurts this game for me. Its what I've used in every COD.

Right now, for me its: MW2 > MW3 > Blops II > Ghosts > Blops

I finally got that emblem of the dog with 3D glasses , what a tedious thing to do but I had fun playing free for all. surprised I got most of the magnum kills there with no camping

My group plays TDM elusively, and afaik there's no way to back out without taking a loss. Attempting to do so even warns you that leaving the game before completion will count as a loss.

I play with 5 others and 3 of us have over a 3.0 kd/r, while the other two are all around a 1.15 kd/r.

In all honestly I think it's a combination of having good players and diverse gameplay among each player. I'm the turd of the group who camps it up and really, really, really likes to set people up to run into IEDs - it can get to the point where people simply avoid me and my general area, and I'll be lucky if I break 5 kills as a result. Our second strongest player is the annoying quickscopper who's killing people with BS shots, drop shots, head glitching, contextual lean glitching, etc. Our strongest is the uber soldat (MW2 style) who using nothing but quick/fast perks with a bulldog or combat knife and frequently malls down all 6 opposing players within 10 seconds - not surprisingly, he has the highest SPM, kill count, accuracy, and lowest rank among our group.

If you've been pubbing it alone and managed a 26 winstreak, that's pretty impressive given all the randoms on your team were likely mediocre.

Gonna hop on later when there's more people playing; really hoping to break 100 wins.

Well after selling this game I'm back on it. My brother gave me my late Christmas gift and it was ghosts.

I'm determined to do better at it this time. Maybe I dismissed it too early.

I just can't find a load out that works for me. I'm not a runner, I don't camp but I like to hold down an area and then make my way to a new area, moving around a lot within that area.

In black ops 2 I loved the MTAR and peacekeeper and always used hard line, scavenger/cold blooded and engineer along with betties and those shocker things.

Help me!

Idk if it is the controller for me or maybe the players are worse, but I have two copies of ghosts for both the Xbone and the PS4 and even though the Xbone version is noticeably worse looking I play way better on it. Idk what is causing this, maybe I was in a room full of noobs or maybe the net code is better? I just have no clue why I do so much better on the Xbox version compared to the ps4 version. I do prefer the looser sticks on the Xbone controller, but still I prefer the stick layout on the ps4. This is so weird.

The reviewer at Polygon said he couldn't tell the two versions apart graphically. I still laugh every time I think about that. The XB1 version does have better gun sounds though.

I've got both and do slightly better on the PS4. I think the sticks on PS4 are more precise. The net code seems very similar to me. Sometimes I think it's slightly better on XB1, but then I'm not sure.

Maybe you play with friends who are better on XB1? That can make a big difference.

Give the Marksman Rifles a shot. I like the MK14 or MR28 with an ACOG. Pair that with Dead Silence and Stalker (and other perks you like) and you can control a decent sized area, moving around quite a bit, but can still win semi-close encounters since you have Stalker and can ADS and move quick. It's been working pretty well for me.

Been playing for a couple days now. 0.9 K/D ratio, mostly play TDM.

Sick of all the campers in this game, and mediocre teammates.

I need people to play with, sick of losing all the time.

If you play on 360 you can add me "eek5". Mainly play TDM but we've been playing DOM lately since we found out we are surprisingly good at it.

DOM in this game like like a better TDM. Most people have no clue how to control spawns so you just run around getting kills.

You probably want two classes one with off the grid and one without with similar guns/set-ups. I usually run without OTG but if the other team is running a lot of sat coms it can definitely make holding an area harder.

I didn't like the MTAR that much but as far as the similar recoil the SC-2010 is pretty similar but it does less damage up close. If you want the damage curve the SA-805 is your gun but it kicks to the right. If you burst fired with the MTAR then it shouldn't be a huge problem. I'm assuming you used the MTAR a lot after the range buff; the SA-805 has nowhere near the 3hk range as the MTAR did but it's decent. It was one of my favorite AR starting this game but I stopped liking its recoil.

I hear it is very good signle fire since it fires so fast and has decent 3hk.

If you played close game honey badger is decent and you get free silencer. The MTAR in this game is actually quite good as well w/ SMG movement. With grip and silencer or grip and rapid fire it has great TTK and controllable recoil plus you probably can avoid running stalker with this and save some points.

I just want to say that I really love Search and Rescue. I know this game is divisive, but Infinity Ward really got it right here. It's cool that they brought in another Search game-type, and it actually plays well.

I wish I had a team of 5-6. I would probably never lose. The only time it would even be a challenge is going up against another good / smart full team. And, how often does that happen, full team vs full team.

Yes.

More people need to play it so we can actually compete and get armors like the kill count ones.

I can't get enough of it. Much better than SnD. It's the game mode where I have the most kills somehow. And it gives the most xp by far.

Ghosts multiplayer reminds me of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, in that, your first few hours with it are absolutely confusing and overwhelming. Ghosts has the steepest learning curve of any Call of Duty since Modern Warfare 2, which is cool. I'm having fun.

What's with the fade-ins on PS4, though? Sometimes it doesn't finish fading in until after the count down's over, sometimes it just starts with the full color range. That one specific bug just seems so bizarre to me, and screams about a lack of polish.

I thought that got introduced with a recent patch, and it happens on XB1 too.

There is also a new music bug, where it cuts out early sometimes.

I am enjoying this, but I just started this week and I need teammates. I play EST and typically get on during the week around 830-900. Would any of the new owners or those not in the GAF clan want to form a clan?

finally tried heavy duty for the first time today. boy, return of the commando knife lunge lol.
keep running into lobbies with at least 1 or 2 ppl with knifes.
played a few rounds in it and I find its exceptionally good for blitz since you get that extra health to run to the capture point. In any other game mode, it just feels awkward taking that much bullet to kill. Sad about not being able to 1shotkill with sniper unless headshot and using any other gun than my rapid mtar feels so slow (movement and time to kill).

afterward i got my first and unexpected kem strike on dom, the train in middle map (forgot name). was just picking up random guns and trying it out. FAD is my new fav AR.

Nah no friends as all of them hate COD and are BF fans. So I play solo on both. I did a test of both again later on today and still prefer the look of the ps4 version, I just seem to either get really terrible terrible teams all the time, or just am not fully use to this game yet. I still am trying to play it like BO2 or MW3, which means I am mainly running and gunning, but it is a lot harder in this game to do I have noticed.

Also that Polygon review was complete BS everybody knows Gies is Xbox PR.

I just created a brand new custom game to test things out. I restricted loadouts and created one custom loadout for each team. Sure enough when I start the game, as either team, the weapons I am supposed to be starting with are nowhere to be seen. It doesn't make any god damn sense.

I'm super bummed because I convinced my friend to get this game in large part because I'd made a pretty cool custom game recipe where one team only has knives and the other team has all kinds of different classes/loadouts, so it's playing against zombie bots. It works perfectly offline, I've been playing it for days now, but online it's completely fucked up. You start off on the 'human' team with nothing but a knife and you start on the zombie team with an assault rifle. Not even the assault rifle the human team has, I don't know where or why or how it got picked. Anyway so yeah now he's bought the game, and we can't play that mode. (I know there's Infected but it's not really the same, especially since the default loadout sucks and you can't change it.)

I did figure out why one of my loadouts was being renamed Loadout 1, though. I had, foolishly, called the loadout Assault Rifle and apparently the word Assault is restricted.

Anyway I don't know what to do. Even though I'm signed in to the Activision website (I see all my CoD Elite stuff, for both Xbox and PS4) it won't let me log on to the support forum. So I have no way of communicating this issue to the team, hopefully they're already aware of it.

I was doing custom recipes a few weeks ago. Your classes are there, but so are the create a class that people make, so you have to restrict everything that's not in your own preset recipe classes, that way people and the bots are forced to choose your preset over their create a class.

Yeah I did that. I restricted every single primary and secondary weapon. =\

Like I said in a previous post, I can get these custom recipes to work perfectly offline. It's online that the exact same recipes get screwed up.

If you play over ethernet you can yank the network cable out and it won't count as a loss and neither will your stats be recorded.

But I don't see the point, you're only kidding yourself if you do it to maintain a streak.

My highest streak is 29, I play solo Domination and that was pretty damn hard work with a few 200-19x games - and no cable yanking either!

Well okay. Fell through the floor and started freefalling into oblivion.

I've come to the conclusion that either I'm blind as a bat or the netcode is wonky. Killcams sometimes look nothing like how I originally perceived.

Killcams are the absolute worst thing to use to judge a kill. They're a close recreation. They have never been an exact replay.

Is it my imagination or has Danger Close become less effective?

It's your imagination.

I only needed 4 rescue kills for my gold skin and it took me forever. I was trying to get them and couldn't. One random match it pops up and says complete. Absolutely no idea what I did right.

Lean kills are stupid and completely killed my desire to go for gold on guns. Even when I was frustrated with BOII, getting gold/diamond was something I could do to pass time, and I don't even have fun doing that in this game.

Also it looks like they're saving any good camos for DLC regardless.

I completely agree. BO2 was frustrating to get gold camos for the pistols, riot shield, combat knife, etc but finally getting the diamond camo made it feel worthwhile. I love ghosts and all but I really don't feel the drive to get gold camo this time around. I started going for the gold USR since I had already unlocked most of them going for the 850 chrome barrel kills, but when it came down to having to get 100 leaning kills I gave up. I bought the season pass so I got the Ice camo anyway which IMO is the best looking camo in the game.
