Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Thread | PS4 Weekend

Still haven't been able to try it cause it's buggy as hell. Those who dislike it, how did you feel about BO3?

I like BO3 more than IW, mainly because the movement system of BO3 fits well into the maps. It also feels smooth and fluid in BO3 while in IW it's just a useless extra mechanic. It seems like IW totally didn't needed to implement this and wanted to have it in in the game because the latest installment happened to have it, because it totally seems useless at certain parts of the maps. Talking about maps, I think the maps we've played so far in the beta are badly designed or maybe it's because of the spawn points. I've seen/read and experienced it myself that people get killed too much from shots in the back.

So far, the beta hasn't convinced me that it's better than previous installments.

Had a few more games, got a 26 kill streak. Feels good, just something about it i cant put my finger on. Inconsistent maybe? Also don't like Frost at all.

Played some matches last night. I don't see where the "this game is garbage" sentiment is from. I like BO3 and this is really just more of the same. So I guess if you didn't I get it. dunno, I figured people would like this as well.

Then again, I'm seeing people claim to have played one match then uninstall the beta, which seems kind of crazy to me as well. MWR should be full at least!

To those that actually preordered at a place like Best Buy or GameStop, we can still cancel our preorders right? I probably will but we can still play the cod4 campaign for next couple weeks?

Playing the bf1 ea access trial and it's so good.

Okay, I think I was a little harsh initially. The maps are still meh but I'm having more fun now. I think the problem was I was originally trying to play like I do in Blops 3, where this game definitely doesn't encourage you to be as mobile.

Nowhere near COD in it's prime but potentially better than Ghosts and AW. (Not like that is saying much)

Too much lag and bugs. But man, when it worked, I thought it would be fun... It is not that good. Nothing that practically makes me want to say that it is better than BO3 in the actual match/gameplay.

The gameplay in BO3 feels a lot more polished than this and the maps are more tailored to the movement system than this as well.

I like the environments and art direction here more than in BO3 although that's not enough to get me to buy the game so far.

AW was a lot better than this too to be honest and I don't think that I'm being hyperbolic.

Not impressed.

Feels like Ghosts with Black ops 3 movement tacked on. The maps suck and the visuals are underwhelming coming from AW and Black Ops 3. Really glad MWR is coming out.

This shit right here sounds fucking perfect to me lol! Hopefully i can get in a game to see for myself later.

Well i had my fun with BO3 till around the first dlc... Wanted to try this beta... Its just not for me anymore. Everything feels the same to me. Roll on Bf1 and Titanfall.

Anyone having problems connecting right now? It says fetching online profile and then throws an error message every time I try and fire up mp.

Edit: scratch that, now I'm back in the lobby, waiting.....

Just got out of my first couple games. Here are my first impressions:

First, I'm actually surprised that TTK is the major complaint in this thread, because I don't think it's that egregious. My biggest issue with the game is that it just doesn't feel good to play. It's as if, in the process of copying Black Ops 3, they forgot to keep the things about Black Ops 3 that mattered most, like the way the game felt and moved, or the intentional movement-based map design, or even the satisfying "pop" when you hit someone. The game just feels off.

As others have been saying here, it's like they took the core gameplay "feel" of Ghosts, and added Black Ops 3's movement system and specialists. But the core Ghosts part of it is what really destroys the game for me. Ghosts did not feel good to play. IW feels largely the same and suffers for it.

Then there's the more minor issues, like the bland menus, the unimpressive presentation of the whole thing. It's just a step down from BO3 in every conceivable way, and it doesn't do anything on its own to set itself apart. Advanced Warfare, even though it had its issues, did something different and I admire Sledgehammer for doing it. Black Ops 3 was genuinely different from AW and changed up the movement and multiplayer systems enough to set itself apart. But IW is aiming to be exactly like Black Ops 3 and it shows. It just doesn't click together; it feels like an imitation of a game rather than a game unto itself, if that makes any sense.

I'm a bit disappointed by it, but honestly not that surprised. I knew MWR would be the superior part of this game, and IMO the price was worth it to be able to play Cod4 multiplayer again. And who knows, maybe the IW campaign will be good. But the multiplayer is not a great first impression!

Personally really liking the fact that theres not as much crazy running and jumping. Yes there's still some, but doesn't seem to be nearly as much. Seems much more grounded which I really like. Unless I haven't played enough. What's everyone else noticed?

Other than that its basically the same.

Wow, that's exactly how I feel.

It'd pretty obvious why MWR is bundled for now, no one would fucking buy IW.

I am at the point where I think the beta I have is broken. I cannot kill anybody. I start matches like 0-10. No matter how many times I shoot someone I 100% of the time die first every single time. I am finishing games like 3-17.

Click the touchpad and check how many connection bars you got?

I played one game. It's Ok. I was expecting a horrendous game, but it's not bad. Went 18-12 in my first game.

It suffers in comparison because I've played a bunch of BF1 early access, and that game is really great. And I didn't like the BF1 beta. It's looking like BF1 and Titanfall 2 for me.

I was trying to put my finger on why this game felt so "soulless". I think a major reason is that the soldiers don't have faces at all -- they're obscured by helmets. And the synaptic rig is barely humanoid.

All these complaints on the graphics, is it possible they used lower quality assets to keep the beta size down?

Now today I can't get past fetching online profile. This may honestly be the worst major game beta experience I've ever been part of. And it doesn't help that the game, IMO, is mediocre at best from what I've gotten to play.

Not feeling it, main reason for pre order was because of MWR but having gone through the single player of that with early access I think I can wait until it's sold standalone and cancel my pre order. Plenty to tie me over with in the mean time.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the game fels soulless (or lifeless as I put it). I'm sure part of the issue is the sterility of the scifi world, but I don't think that's the only thing causing that feeling. I'm still trying to put my finger on it myself.

How long do you guys think before Activision sells standalone MWR? 3 months atleast?

If I were them, after playing IW, I'd never release MWR by itself. People, myself being one of them, will buy the full package just for MWR, while also boosting the sales numbers for IW.

At the earliest, I would release it as a standalone once the next COD is out.

Seems like you can do a workaround and play the beta by joining a friend who's already in a game. It'll skip the Fetching Online Profile part.

3 months? Are you serious? With this negative reception? Lol

Try spring or summer if we're lucky. Wouldn't be surprised if most at Activision never wants to sell it standalone. It's this games saving grace.

Not really feeling the multi-player. Looking forward to the camp though.

Haven't played cod multi-player in a while but in the previous games did you always die so quickly? I mean it seems like 2 shots and your done. Maybe it's because I have been playing a lot of destiny pvp lately, where it takes more shots to actually kill the person.

This beta only has a few maps and no singleplayer. The Beta isn't the entire game.
Yea of course but we've seen it before where betas had lower quality assets to keep the size down and still ended up in that 10-15-20 GB range.
Oh well.

I was thinking if people put their money where their mouth is, Acti will see how dead the sales for IW are and put out MWR quicker.

You guys are probably right tho :(

Unfortunately, I want MWR too badly to do that. Here's hoping the next COD isn't scifi, and is actually really good again.

I didn't like it. I loved AW, only played BO3 beta and didn't enjoy that. I thought this game was supposed to be like AW but it's more BO3 than anything.

Went back to play some MWR campaign. The mechanics in that game are just perfect, why couldn't they just use that as a base and design new maps/weapons around that. They had to use Ghosts, the worst feeling COD, as the base and the game really suffers for it. :(

Yeah I've been wishy washy whether to essentially give Activision a free pass for being scummy bundling MWR with IW but this beta has made me decide I won't. I too beat the MWR campaign (Veteran, nice and nade-spammy haha) and can wait awhile. Too many games this fall anyway
