Anyone but Nintendo. I can't imagine playing street fighter on something like WiiU with no community.
hmm... no real interesting conversations yet so i'll try to start one.
What makes you guys think Nintendo should buy Capcom majority shares (ignoring your fanboy/fangirl dreams)? Don't you think that Nintendo are not doing as great financially (regardless of their total assets)with their Wii U system they are trying to breathe life into? Shouldn't they focus on their own financial gain rather than spending money on a company not doing so well and with the unknown of whether they would make profits for them? Don't forget, Nintendo also have investors they need to please and i dont know what their profit is for this quarter but i don't know how happy investors would be if Nintendo break the bank with buying Capcom shares.
Did they do this in the car ride over to the meeting? This barely instills any confidence, no wonder the shareholders rejected it.
How Nintendo treats third party characters vs how their own companies treat them. Give it to Nintendo:
Found this is the internet.
Capcom's market cap is 95.77 billion JPY ($940 million).
It's not as simple as you're implying. It depends how much liquidity is in the stock and how much is on the open market. You'll have investors that are only holding - and will only sell if given an appropriate offer.
People say again and again that Nintendo's problem is that they don't have enough diversity (people were clamoring for new IPs). This would GREATLY diversify Nintendo's game library and draw in many hard core fan bases (fighting games, monster hunter, Mega Man, Resident Evil, etc).
A larger game library draws more customers and would be good for Nintendo and it's stock holders.
Nobody's more hungry than Amazom right now.
Well, that is not true at all. Monster Hunter makes loads of money and that's a 3ds exclusive. Imagine if all Capcom games had the level of focus and budget that Nintendo can provide.
All of those classic Capcom IPs would do incredibly well and Nintendo would be looking hardcore gamers in the eyes: I don't know anyone that would be able to resist a console that has Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, MegaMan, Monster Hunter, Breath of Fire, Dead Rising, Dino Crisis, Phoenix Wright, and Viewtiful Joe exclusively.
Yeah, Nintendo sure has been doing justice to Samus lately, huh.
Another game company is not going to buy Capcom.
IF anyone did, it would be a bigger media conglomerate that wants to get in to mobile games and sees Capcom as their entry in to that market. Or a company that's already big in the mobile scene.
History doesnt matter all that much if you have a new boss telling you what to do, especially if they are being told to reevaluate and refocus, something which Capcom seems to be failing at. And in the case of Microsoft, as my post was talking about, the only thing close to a mobile gaming platform that they have is Windows/Phone. If Fans of say Monster Hunter, Phoenix Wright or Megaman were told that if the only way they would get to play a new game would be if they bought a Windows Phone or Windows 8 PC, you would see sales of Lumia 520s jump (being the cheapest of the bunch) by a tiny amount.sort of a pessimistic foresight don't you think? Capcom doesn't really have a great history with mobile games
If only we were so lucky.nintendo should use the money they make off of megaman amiibos to buy out capcom
because that'd be funny if not impossible
I know the worst possible outcome for us is in store, so I'll just hang back and hope to eat crow.
Compared to what all 3 three characters have been put through? I'd say Samus is perfectly fine.Yeah, Nintendo sure has been doing justice to Samus lately, huh.
There are ways around that, like delayed integrations so they can fulfill existing contracts and milestones. You're talking about a scenario that will never exist. Capcom's never had all those IP's active at one time. Just look at how small their current lineup is. And a number of those IP's really aren't that big of a deal anymore (Mega Man, BoF, Dino Crisis) or have never been a big deal (VJ) in terms of sales. So they'd most likely just continue to rot away by whoever ends up buying them. The money is in RE, DMC, SF, MH, PW and maybe DR. And two of those are largely handheld only franchises.
The best thing for Capcom would b to be bought by a company that wouldn't change how they can make games. They could just continue their operation without any real shakeups. That's why Atlus was able to transition so easily with Sega's purchase. If Nintendo had bought them, as many speculated, they would've had to restart the development of P5, P4D and P4A on different platforms.
Why do people want Nintendo/Sony/MS to buy out Capcom? Having Capcom games limited to one platform would be awful.
LOL that's probably going to be the funniest thing I hear all day. Its hard to think of anything worse (wow I think I really hate Apple).Apple buys Capcom.
Street Fighter iOS at tournaments from now on.
On yeah.
Well first of all, after what happened with Rare I'm fairly sure that anyone who suggests Microsoft is just trolling.
As for Sony or Microsoft, consider this: having games limited to one platform is not so awful when you consider the fact that this pretty much guarantees that they will not turn them into F2P iOS/Android factories. Because let's be honest, if anyone else than the console platform holders buys a huge game company such as Capcom, it's only going to go towards that shit route.
Could Sega even afford Capcom? If it had to be a game company one of the big 3 seem more likely.
so you want capcom to sell less?

Nintendo is not stupid enough to buy Capcom. Monster Hunter would still come to the best selling handheld which would be Nintendo's and sales of such series like Street Fighter and Resident Evil would fell off the cliff it they would be Nintendo home console exclusive.

I think it would be worth it almost for the personnel, 2K according to Google. I'm assuming most have game development experience. As much as I don't think they should spend that much money on one company the reasons you listed really wouldn't turn them off from buying Capcom if they really wanted. They would get full control of those series and get money they aren't seeing from them now.
