Capcom to PC gamers: Buy SSF4 Arcade Edition

I think I am just going to wait for the patch release and then buy it at that point.

Do GFWL on PC have to go through the same or similar patch submittion process as 360 patches?

I wish Skullgirls would release on PC instead of console only... that would scratch my PC fighting game itch.
Play some Vanguard Princess, that'll scratch it fine.

As others have already said, this is a good start, even though it's only a start, IMO.

Now we might see the PC version used at Evo 2011 and other tournies. The reason simply being that it's bound to be superior to the console versions on a moderately powerful rig, and people can use the.fan-made character mods if they wish. Not the naked ones or Preggers Sakura, natch.

It also ensures that I might consider double-dipping on the PS3 and PC/Steam versions.

That can be a good thing, because no matter what stick you have (360, PS3) they can both work on PC. Like for example some tournaments I go to are PS3 only, so I was forced to have 2 sticks for different consoles.

Just do it right. Buy a Cthulhu or a ChImp and dual-mod the thing. It'll make you a better person.

Oh, I do. I have a viewlix duel modded. My point is that if most tournament were run on PC (Will never happen) then I wouldn't be forced to spend more money. Not to say that I don't love my arcade stick. <3

To clarify a few other questions from above, I got some other answers:

Assuming you are logged in to your profile account, in offline mode you will:

1. DLC you've purchased will also still be available for you to use.

2. Single player achievements can still be earned and will be synced with your online profile the next time you are online.

It would make tournament running more expensive and more impractical moving equipment + getting many moderately powerful pc's to have the best/same settings in each game.

So basically, just be logged in?

They dropped the UK price to match the US one. If you pre-ordered weeks ago, you might want to cancel it.

Arturo Sanchez asked Seth Killian about AE PC at ECT this weekend. Specifically, Art asked if it was possible to cross-link between two PCs running AE like how it's setup in arcades. Seth responded to the inquiry by saying, "Well, that'll be interesting to see, won't it?" I'm not sure if that was really a tease or if Seth doesn't know much about AE PC beyond it being a port because after that he basically said, "Yeah, I'm a Mac guy, oh er, um, I gotta go to the bathroom, SEE YA." Then left.

I can't really see them adding a local network play mode after the whole DRM kerfuffle, but stranger things have happened.

What's the difference in graphical quality like, between AE PS3 and AE PC?

AE PC isn't out yet, but my guess would be anti-aliasing, higher resolutions and no more dithered transparencies for the afterimage models on stuff like Ibuki's command dash and Yun's Genei Jin.

You can still download the stress test for SFIV PC. It gives an excellent preview of what the game looks like on a good PC.

The primary advantage is far superior IQ due to the resolution and AA, etc. In fact, I'd say the PC version shows how good SFIV really looks.

Edit: here is one link to the SFIV benchmark for people who want to see what it looks like on PC: http://www.shacknews.com/file/13834/street-fighter-4-benchmark-tool

will be buying once i get off work, i was deciding between the Xbox and the PC versions, but ill go for PC with the steam sale!

I'd buy it right now if you can, it's most likely an error, as every Capcom game is currently 33% off.

For some reason there's a 33% discount (without any strings attached) on AE right now on Steam US for $26.79. If you own SFIV on Steam already, an extra 10% is discounted, making it $22.79

Thanks for the heads up :O!

I really wish I could get into this game. I love watching the tourney streams and I like competitive games but I just don't have the patience to memorize all the stuff you need to do to be good at a "serious" fighting game.

Also guys remember that they/capcom had the wrong price for DMC4 during the christmas sale to 50% of the original sale price! So don't be surprised if this is another f' up, so get it while it's hot because it ain't getting cheaper than that.

Welp, it's back to it's original price. Knew this was going to happen :)

sadface, steam store doesn't even seem to be loading for me. Friends list and the popup telling me about the sale loads fine.

wait... now it does. Guess they were updating the front page right when I was f5ing. Deal is gone though.

Lol. Capcom pulled a Capcom. O well. I don't care much about AE. I let someone I know about it, but I doubt he got it in time. I sold off my AE dlc the day after I got it. SFIV is just not for me.

True, but most of the PS3 sticks from madcatz require a certain chipset. So that alone would be a pain in the ass. Fuck Madcatz.

I thought the problem is that PS3 sticks only work on Intel mobos.

The steam deal is pretty tempting...

Was the SF4 PC community pretty active, or was it hard to find matches?

I live in Germany and i had a much easier time finding matches on PC then I did on PS3 with vanilla SFIV. Not to mention that the competition is nowhere near as fierce on PC =P
