Capcom's 2016 line up seems very underwhelming so far

Dragons Dogma pc version (looks like it got the love it deserved for the pc port) in January and Street Fighter V in February.
I'm actually pretty happy about it, can't imagine they or any other publisher can release two fantastic games in such a short time 2016.

Seriously though, I want a new Vs. game.

Capcom Vs. Marvel, Tatsunoko, SNK, Arksys, Square Enix, Sega, Namco Bandai, Shounen Jump ... SOMETHING.

I really enjoy the Capcom fighters where you pick teams of characters with assists, fast paced gameplay and real hype.

DMC5, friend. Announced in March, released in September.

Capcom gonna shock da whirl!
March would seem like a random month to announce a game.
Can you imagine DmC 2?

"Killer" line-up... uh... do... explain? Are they releasing Valkyrie Profile 3 and I'm unawares?

Well at least the good thing is that Tri-Ace have been very busy lately and on major projects.Who knows maybe if SO5 does well SE will resurrect VP next.

(*sorry for getting off topic)

Capcom also has RE2 that it's gonna release at some point. I'd think they'd want to release it before RE7 but who knows. Although I'm excited for MH Stories from them.

I wonder if they will release another Revelations game next year. They can make one of this every year pretty easily if they try.

Street Fighter 5, Ace Attorney 6, Monster Hunter Stories. In the west we'll probably get MHX too. Thats a good lineup with nice variety.

If they manga to push SFV and to some extent MH to be world beaters, then it should be fine for them financially.

Staying insular and/or singular is just a path trending to irrelevancy.

SO5 looks bad but it was never a game series for me to begin with.

Anyway, I dunno, I don't think anything they've been doing lately has been what I would term as disappointing though. In fact most of my reactions to Capcom lately have been, "pleasantly surprised" more than anything else. Their support for PC and general reactivity to consumer input have been far more impressive than most (Square-Enix in particular...).

What did Capcom even release in this past year? RE Revelations 2, MH4U, Mega Man Collection, and?

The release of SFV is already bigger than the last year alone. Not really sure what's expected out of them anyways.

USSFIV's ps4 port and DMC4 SE, I guess. The Great Ace Attorney, Monster Hunter X... not a ton.

Panta Rhei seems to have kicked their plans for this gen straight in the ass.

Street Fighter is far better equip than any other fighting games franchise to scale its popularity in the esports realm.

If Capcom fails this, especially in Asia, then well, good luck.

Such a shame considering they seemed really efficient with MT Framework last generation. Likely ran into similar problems as Ubisoft with AC Unity: overshooting with their engines relative to the actual strength of the consoles. The difference is Ubisoft still released their broke ass game.

Budget looking SF? The models look clean, the backgrounds obviously need work but most of the roster looks really good

honestly they could just remove the background character models and i think they would look lovely...3s didnt need a bunch of people doing whacky shit in the background to look beautiful.

Actually, I think it's great.
Keep in mind that is going to be the 20th anniversary of Resident Evil so we are going to have :
-RE 0 Remake
-Umbrella Corps
-most likely RE 7 for Q4 2016

if you add Deep Dow, Dragon's Dogma and SF 5, that's an amazing line up for a publisher in a given year.

Their "big" realeases are a PC port (Dragon's Dogma),a remaster (RE Zero),and another generic online FPS (Umbrella Corps).Their only true significant release will be SF5.That's pretty disappointing IMO.

Do you think they are going to release any other big title next year (other than SF5) or do we have to wait for 2017?

EDIT : I forgot there's also Ace Attorney 6

Why is this a surprise? You do realize Capcom proper hasn't actually released a single current gen console game? They've just ported some PS360 fare and (partially) funded a western developed Dead Rising in partnership with MS. They're for all intents and purposes as dead as Konami.

It's the 15th anniversary of DMC, so I'm expecting at most a port of the HD trilogy to current gen and PC. Maybe an announcement of DMC5 for 2017

People who say Deep Down is dead must have not heard about Nioh =p

It's not over till it's over.

That said, I think it's highly likely you can forget about Deep Down in it's current concept form.

I hope you realize how stupidly hyperbolic this post is. They aren't even remotely comparable.
