Oh yeah Zemo was just sort of there by the way. I guess he had some motivations but they really didn't need to be "the avengers killed my family" when that shit was already driving the movie as is. Waste of the character.

Do they really have to use Zemo and Strucker for small roles? Can't they just make up some minor character, like Count Rakosvic or General Krauner?

His role is integral to the movie, but he never really had any presence. He pulls the strings, but he wasn't really needed.

He is mainly used as a distraction but Lang in general does a good job at fighting. He doesn't really have a good grip on Giant Man yet.

Oh that's good! I was worried he was just going to look cool for 5 seconds and then be used as a target to make Stark's side look cool.

Just curious. I saw an early tweet saying that Marvel had "upped the language game" on this one. Does someone say 'Fuck' or something?

Yeah, best movie yet. Can't say I have any disappointments. Anything I can think to change, I can immediately understand why they did it there way.

Zemo is going to play a huge role later, I can see it. This is the first villain they're going to be "building up".

The movie was fucking hype. You guys know everything so I'll just keep posting impressions in the other thread haha. I feel like I can't add anything here.

Was there a 2nd end credits scene? I dipped out after the first to avoid garage rush.

Holy smokes that was probably my favorite MCU movie so far.

So does Peter actually have a secret identity?
Sorry if this was already answered, but I have to know this, but don't want other spoilers.

And in the review thread it seems people were pretty positive on Zemo, which makes me happy.

I am still bitter that we didn't get him in the mask though.

I sorta liked that Zemo wasn't so front and center in the plot since that's kind of what he wanted.

It also seemed like he'll probably show up again in the future, he didn't seem like a one off.

So Tony/Steve/Aunt May don't know?

The first time you see Spidey is when Tony visits him in his home. Peter is surprised to see Tony talking to Aunt May. Tony tells them that Peter won that grant that they had been emailing about which Peter rolls with but has no idea what he is talking about.

When Tony and Peter go into Peter's room, Tony shows him video of Spider-Man and ends up recruiting him.

Right up there with WS for best MCU film. The shit that really stood out to me was the awful running cg stuff. Looked brutal.

Can't wait to see it again.

And aunt tomei, good Lord. And Spiderman is OP.

How exactly does he convince Peter to fight with him?

Like, everytime I started to not like something, I'd change my mind. I was starting to get annoyed with BP being too one dimensional about vengeance, then he gets a great scene with Zemo that makes me love him. Now, I can't wait for his movie. I can't think of much I'd tweak, really. I mean, I'm still hot and hyped, but damn!

"come to Germany with me or I'll tell your Aunt that you are Spider-Man"

Yeah, pretty much.

During the actual fight, Spider-Man speaks to Cap and you hear some stuff that Tony told him.

Something like

Cap: "Kid, you don't fully understand what's happening"
Spidey: "Tony said you'd say that"

later

Spider: "He said you think you're right which makes you dangerous"
Cap: "He's right about that"

They had some more back and forth but I can't remember the other lines.

Man, that's perfect. That's exactly the kind of back-and-forth between Cap and Spidey I had hoped for after reading Ultimate Spiderman. I love it

Just got out. Loved it! Need to see it again (already had a ticket booked) but I think I'd call it my new favorite MCU. Really glad that no one died, I'm sure someone will say the movie had no stakes because of it lol. I'll maybe post more detailed thougjts later if I feel like it

One question: how the hell did Tony know Peter was Spider Man? Maybe it was explained and I couldn't hear it over all the laughter over that scene but I have no idea how he could have known he was SM especially when no one else seems to have a clue.

I am so goddamn glad that the third act didn't degenerate into them fighting the other winter soldiers. Once they mentioned them I was absolutely dreading some heroes versus generic villains fight. Great use of misdirection

They even give you flashbacks of the one who beat up Bucky. It was all misdirection!

Yeah, the Cap/Spidey interactions were great. Made me want more. I would really love to see Cap pop up in Spiderman now. They're such a natural pairing.
