Captain America: Civil War SPOILER Thread - #TeamThanos

As much as I liked the airport fight, the fight against the police followed by the chase was my favorite action sequence in the movie. Especially if you also include Bucky going Winter Soldier a few minutes later

That one still had a bit too much of the Lagos sequence's sped-up motion and quick cuts for me. Though it was a huge improvement, it feels like the Lagos/Vienna action and the airport sequence were handled by completely different people.

Nah, I don't think Tony let him down. Steve knows Tony is doing what he believes in.

Yup. The fact that Steve wrote him a letter with a phone to contact them, makes me think he doesn't think Tony let him down. They may disagree, but never let him down.

If anything, I think Steves act of not telling Tony that WS killed his parents, made him realize he let himself down a little bit.

I bet the Vision is going to end up leaving Earth...like the Hulk he realizes that he's too dangerous. I think the Vision had the best characterization out of anyone really and it leads me to believe that when the Gem gets ripped from his head he won't drop dead.

hmmm Vision in gaurdians 2 would be cool, like he helps starlord and the gang and then Thanos shows up and rips the gem off his head

then the guardians go to earth to get help after Vision tells them about the avengers before going RIP

infinity war 1 begins with them meeting up

Yeah I'm glad Steve apologized to Tony for not telling Tony about Bucky's connection to the Starks and realized he handled that incorrectly.

he says as much in the letter, and apologizes

Yeah, I was going to mention Guardians 2 but then I thought I heard from somewhere that it was going to have little to no connection at all to everything else. Which is super fucking hard to believe.

At the end, when Steve writes to Tony he says "I put my trust in people, and for the most part they haven't let me down"

Who do you think Steve was talking about that let him down?

Coulson

Can't wait for Infinity War's marketing to have a pivotal shot of the two of them, Tony handing Cap back the shield, and the line "Once an Avenger, Always an Avenger."

Heck that's a movie poster line.

Corny as hell but hey.

Goddamn it. XD

OH MY GOD WHAT'S UP WITH HIS SHOES, I JUST NOTICED THAT XDDDDD

UUUUUUUGH, the last thing we need is Sony fast-tracking ANYthing Spidey. I would barely, BARELY tolerate a B-tier roster Sinister Six in Homecoming's 3rd act, and only because we trust in Marvel Studios.

... Damn now I really wanna see the Netflix Marvel guys teaming up with Spidey to take on a B-Tier Sinister Six. Argh, on paper such a bad idea but IN MY MIND IT'S NOT THAT BAD.

I really want to know what happened to Black Widow after Tony said he had called the Feds on her and she left the compound.

Also I love how it left off with the groups still fractured even though Cap sent the phone and note to Tony as an olive branch.

Apparently protecting the sides of you calves but not your shins is important to Coulson.

Actually, this movie reminded me:

That weird Sonic-Wave suppression weapon that Rhodey has in his gauntlet came from the Incredible Hulk film, it was the two giant things they were trying to knock out Hulk with at the university. I guess Herman Schultz's thing would be that he made his own IN A BOX WITH SCRAPS by himself, without the Stark model schematics. Or with those schematics and now Tony has a bone to pick with him.

Tony's group is still signed on for the Accords, so we'll probably get more conflict between them.

The only one I missed was Fury I still have no idea what he wanted to do in Europe.

I mean wiping out Hydra of course, but he disappers in the End of WS, shows randomly two times up in AoU, but does nothing wort pretending to be dead.

Watch Agents of Shield Season 3. That'll bring you up to speed.

lol

Tony didn't call the feds on her. He warned her T'Challa had informed Ross she let Steve go. "They are coming for you".

Like I said in the other thread, she's in a good spot to just go on a solo adventure somewhere, but with Infinity War production starting at the end of the year, there's probably no time for that now.

Black Widow: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Infinity War

For a videogame forum, it amazes me that nobody was geeking out at the use of hawkeyes MVC3 level 3 super (I know he has done that in the comics but still)

In fact, the entire Airport scene felt like What MVC4 should be, without Capcom characters.

He has been to Wakanda, I'm pretty sure he has a better shield now.

I was curious how this will change Avengers 3. I mean Captain is still registered as a criminal and I am not sure Thor/Bruce would be ok with dealing with Accords stuff.

I felt so bad for Bucky when he was noticed by that newsstand attendant. The poor guy is just trying to live out the rest of his life in peace and he gets dragged into this shit again.

Gotcha, missed that. It would be cool for her to do something solo or at least join with Cap and crew.

They showed it in one of the trailers. It's still not quite the same as Scott just goes into Tony's suit but doesn't do a growing punch.

I'm surprised Stark didn't get into any trouble after the ending.

Guess black panther didn't squeal on him.

'where were you the last day or so Stark?'

this whole 'accord' thing is a shit show atm lol. Wonder if its going to be brought up again. Most of the avengers are escapted convicts now. Tony is a broken mess, rhody is cripple. It's basically just Falcon and vision and maybe spidey?

Heck the main dude behind the accord is safekeeping bucky lol. Infinity War 1 is going to start in a weird place.

I'm confused as to what's going on with the Spiderman IP.

Has Marvel purchased it back? Do they have rights to use it from Sony, but Sony still owns it? Will Sony continue to make Spiderman movies? Are the Spidermans from Marvel and Sony universe the same?

Agreed, I felt so bad for him during the film. He did the right thing being cryogenically frozen though until they can figure out how to fix his brainwashing.

Marvel gets to use Spider-Man in their films and Marvel is also PRODUCING the new Spiderman film, while Sony still owns the IP.

Basically Marvel makes the movies and Sony cuts the check and gets some of the cash

Oh yeah! This was a really great part, because at that point he hadn't realized what happened.

I hope Dr. Strange will end up being a lot better than its trailer was.

Really not a fan of the trailer...

Nah. They're not going to miss having Tony give Steve his shield back. It's symbolism, man...

That and T'Challa has done enough for Cap by keeping Bucky in Wakanda. He's a King as well as a superhero dude who has no doubt signed the Accords, he can only do so much.

I thought someone was gonna die

If this movie killed anything, I would hope that it's the Murder Boners that people have for fiction, thinking that death is the only way to have stakes in storytelling.
