Captain America vs. Master Chief

master chief is a better character than captain america. more interesting things happen to him and he has a personality. like most comic books captain america suffers from having awful writers that masturbate to their own drawings and have to come up particular circumstances in which he would win every single event.

its like how batman could stand a nuclear explosion or defeat an army of a 100 soldiers firing at him instantly. it's just a little boring and only something that comic book fans would be impressed with.

chinner droppin truth bombs left and right

Totally disagree. He has at most a computer that has a personality. I'm impressed by the fact the good and bad cap has stayed consistent. While MC is supposedly a "force of nature" or some shit. He is a super soldier in power armor. He is basically Kurt Russell in Iron Man armor without half the resources. Cmon man. Cap has done more and seen more than MC's entire cannon.

You have no idea who Captain America is obviously.

If Halo had started in the comic medium then by now we would've had a storyline where MC punches the Fable guy out and then teabags him so hard that he impregnates him and then it's just Knocked Up with MC and Fable guy.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me that Cap is able to take on the likes of Ultron, Thor, Hulk, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta.

What bothers me is that he's labelled as peak human. That's... what?

I mean, what?...

He needs to be labelled, at the very goddamn minimum, superhuman. Seriously.

Come on, that video is BS playing to comic fans. Chief would have shot at his legs. He beat three grown men barehanded as a teenager without any armor. Cap ain't punching shit.

Also, Cap dropping down was as silly as this.

Peak human, my ass.

Ya, I get this is based on popularity.

But I don't agree with this outcome.

I mean, I don't think Cap would be able to penetrate MC's shield, yet alone his armor.

Isn't Master Chief much faster than Captain America anyway? And his armor can survive a drop from orbit. Unless some BS was pulled his shield, I can't imagine Captain America jumping out of a plane at altitude without a parachute and landing safely on rock.

why they still got bullets
Why do we still use bullets after we used them in the 1700s? They're effective, they're cheap, and they're reliable. Sure, we use shinier and better-engineered guns, but at the end of the day we're still firing projectiles at each other. Halo universe uses plenty of complex technology, including complex weapons technology, but that doesn't mean they're gonna put all their resources into engineering laser cannons for grunts.
You have no idea who Captain America is obviously.
He's Clark Kent, right?

Halo is a big dumb roided up jock. Zero tactical ability or awareness. Cap wouldn't relish putting down what basically amounts to a retard in a power suit but he'd do it quick.

...halo?

and he isn't a jock. he was a kid when his soldier training began.

There's a mechanic in like every single Halo game where Chief has to shoot Jackals in the hand from 200 yards with a magnum to knock their shield out of the way so he can get a clear shot at their head. Chief could easily hit any body part not covered by that tiny shield.

That's the only thing I really had a problem with.

That and it didn't seem like Chief had any energy shields but it didn't seem like it would have mattered since the plasma grenade would have broken them anyway.

Cap beats on armored people and robots all the time.
Just to be clear, Spider-man didn't lose that fight. Captain America had to run like a little bitch and Spider-man 'captured' the shield and just kinda gave it back to send some sort of message to the Cap.

So 616 is the main universe (where does 616 derive from?), Ultimate is the reboot universe, and there's a third universe?

There are thousands of parallel universes. The Ultimate U is just one of those. It just happens to be more fleshed out than most of the others. The main Marvel universe was never rebooted.

There are many, many universes. 616 is the official designation of the main Marvel universe, which was arbitrarily chosen a long time ago. Since then it's been explained as the numbers Watchers and multiuniversal entities use to categorize different Earths/realities. The movie universe is Earth 199999, while the Ultimate Universe is Earth 1610.

Doesn't he also have 'luck' as an innate skill or something? Like he can win a coin toss 90% of the time?
I'm not sure you can count it as an actual ability because there was never an explanation for it, but yes, he's ridiculously lucky (Other than the whole forceful conscription into the Spartan program thing) and it's something that's been consistent and noticeable since he was a kid, including for coin tosses. It's why Cortana chose him over the other Spartans.

It's basically their justification for stuff like him never being on the ship instantly vaporized by the giant laser beam or in the facility hit by a nuke.

I never read the books, but my sister told me about that. So I imagine a bullet ricocheting off CA shield and bouncing around until it hits him in the back of the knee or something.

Of course it's luck, that's why when using an analog stick there's auto-aim assist.

Just throwing it out there: Chief is a Spartan-II. The Spartan-IIIs were designed to be expendable and cheaper, and as a result received their enhancements via several drug cocktails, just like Cap's serum. How is it that enhancements administered 600 years prior will somehow edge out the cocktails made in the 2530s or 2540s?

Does Captain America have any video games where we could get a comparable benchmark of power rather than having to reconcile two totally different mediums?

They usually make people weaker in games, cause you die...
Does MC ever die in the hands of a player? Weak.
