Cel-Shaded Brawler Transformers Devastation Leaked

I'm sure the game is gonna be at least decent, but I'm a bit sad to see Activision using Platinum for (what I assume to be) cheap licensed games... They deserve better. :(

Doesn't a screenshot show Bumblebee and Sideswipe? Though it might just be a cutscene.

Those screens look like playable from Bumblebee's perspective to me.

So question...
Why do the generic enemies we've seen so far look like Runamuck and Runabout?

"Such heroic nonsense."

Megatron was a cold blooded killer in the movie, considering he's an 80s cartoon villain

The 80s movie was the one time that he was portrayed as a villain. The show just had him be your everyday saturday morning cartoon villain.

All Activision had to do was continue the Cybertron series. The last game was fucking KICKASS! Great, fun action and a packed storyline.

This DOES seem interesting. Hope its not an exclusive.

Probably because they look very generic. At least they chose a template that actually looks like it fits within the G1 universe. And someone has to be the cannon fodder.

This just looks Platinum through and through, especially after having seen the style they presented in Korra. There's little doubt in my mind that it's Platinum.

Treasure had to do it.

Even if this is Platinum I can safely skip it as I did Korra and wait for some main event shit from them.

I'm still holding out hope that High Moon will get to make another one. It's false hope for a dream that won't come, but dammit they were such good games. Probably my favorite Transformers universe, aside from maybe the IDW universe.

They're stuck shitting out DLC and map packs now like Raven, aren't they?

So is this more like Bayonetta or Dynasty Warriors?

Probably neither. It'll be a simpler action game made to appeal to the widest audience.

I can see a lot salty transformers fans if this was actually a challenging action game. Probably won't have the budget to appeal to all crowds. I would like to be wrong though

Yeah, I'm going to guess it's something along the lines of Korra -- Pretty basic, not a ton of depth or variety.

If this is the Platinum game I will be really disappointed.
I might even cry a little.

And I'll buy this one day one unlike Korra, because I actually know Transformers.

I'd be fine with this game being developed by Platinum, it's a little disappointing that the game they're hyping up for E3 might be this though. I'm sure that it'd be good, but I don't trust Activision to give them the time and budget to make it better than their Korra game.

Man it's not even that this would be a bad Platinum game, it's just that I feel like I was hyping up for Rock coming back on Sumerslam and then it turned out to be Billy Gunn. Like, nothing against the Ass Man, and I'm totally gonna hum his theme song all day, but it's like, damn I thought it was the Rock. Or at least like, Jericho.

I doubt they would have been able to hype anything up themselves if it was tied to a platform holder.

What makes us believe this is Platinum's game?

-It looks a lot like Legend of Korra, stylistically
-It looks like another 3D action game, like Korra and like most of what Platinum makes
-Activision is producing it, and they produced Korra for Platinum
-This game is probably going to be officially announced at E3, like Platinum's game will be

It's not definite but it seems very plausible that this is it.

I could see the game being more like Anarchy Reigns than MGR if it indeed is made by Platinum. The cel shaded graphics look great though. It would be cool if the game allowed you to play both Autobot and Decepticon sides.

I wonder if the Transformers will actually transform here. Their alt modes are suspiciously missing in these pictures.

If it really is a follow-up to the Korra partnership, then like some other people have mentioned, they'll probably use the vehicle modes in some stupid minigame thing between stages.

the only thing im worried about if this is platinum is the transformed modes might be relegated to a naga-style minigame ala Korra

I would hope for a more melee focused, God Hand/Anarchy Reigns style game personally. Perhaps with some driving and shooting sections to mix things up. I agree on the graphics looking great as well.

Also, if this is truly a Platinum game in that style, I'd hope to see them do a TMNT brawler as well at some point. Let's hope the Transformers game will end up being better than Korra though (and not Xbox One exclusive...).

It hit Kotaku, and the writer says he doesn't feel it's very likely that it's Platinum developed:

Plus this looks like a downloadable game, not something that would require a retail release. Several people I’ve talked to have compared the look of the screens to Activision’s The Legend of Korra downloadable brawler, developed by Platinum Games. Pure Xbox goes as far as speculating that Platinum is developing this title as well, but that doesn’t seem very likely.

Since this is a Transformers game, will the camera be locked behind the characters back all the time or would the camera be free like a Musou game?

Without a real intelligent argument or evidence supporting the statement, other than claiming it might be "a fan project" instead.

yeah, agree here. the arguments against it are weak as hell.

"The title card looks like a placeholder!" (This is a leak of a game in development)
"That name was used for an IDW series in 2007!" (uh...that no one read, so...)
"Hasbro told me six years ago that there wasn't interest in G1" (it's not six years ago, is it?)
"It could be an old game that got cancelled! or a fan project!" (both are extremely unlikely, given the production values of the shots we've seen).

Bonus: "I would GLADLY pay $15 for the chance to..." (what, do you think this is an indie title? No way this is that low at launch on XBO/PS4)

Oh god those visuals are amazing.

Just reskin that jubeleus fight from bayonetta 1 with unicron and have "the touch" blasting.

Oh right I forgot, you can't market TF without Bumblebee.

...who was the Bumblebee of the BW era again? Was it Cheetor?
