SCE must have all the good public speakers of the company.

Based on prior CES shows, Stringer is amazing. Particularly paired with Hanks. Awfully self-deprecating, often charmingly bumbling.

They should do all Sony shows :3

"Id like to unveil dash"
*one person claps*
"thank you"

Its like an iphone, but useless!

Also, did that music sound like shit for anyone else

I bet that is the only mention of the PS3.
PSBlog mentions that Playstation will have a presence. They wouldn't include the Ustream feed otherwise.

EDIT: Here's Kaz Hirai.

Sony Dash...for those of your that don't own a smartphone but still like to spend a lot of money on consumer electrics...

...wait...
My thoughts exactly. smartphone + stand = (a better) dash
omg, KAZ!!!!!

At least the new Bravia LED's can be adjusted to have a 0 degree slant as opposed to it just being at 6 degrees

EDIT: ugghh, why would they put all the cable connections on the side of TV? Now it wll look like a mess!!

PSN is going to get a rename. Maybe not tonight, but there is no way they roll out PSN video services to other devices and keep the Playstation name attached.

Sony Network Entertainment?

And I was half right I guess, it wasn't much talk about the PS3.

Thats a good shout, and with them just announcing the new division.

Sony Entertainment Network.

Advertising Playstation brand is reason enough to keep the name.

You can see the role Kaz is having already in the whole of Sony.
The integration of the software with the hardware is key and common interface to all is vitsal to this.

is there a way to get rid of the twitter crap to the right of ustreams video. its giving me a headache with tweets coming in every milisecond

How many channels take advantage of HDMI 1.3 right now?

The regular folks get confused already with what to do with their HDTVs and have set most of their set with composite. (smashes head against the wall repeatedly)...

Most cable is 720p right now... Its going to be a while before they transmit 1080p... And even longer to show 3D... So I hope they improve the current tvs with input lag, refresh rate, and make tvs that are not prone to image retention, and have almost zero or zero motion blur... Instead of pushing a gimmick of 3D... This is just my opinion... :)

But Pioneer does not make them anymore... Plus Kuro Elite 9G is expensive as anything though...

EDIT: KESHA... JEEZ:lol

and PS3 time?!!!

Most of your qualms are about the content, not what is delivered through satellite and cable. How many films are filmed above 24 fps? Until studios start pushing for 48 fps or better, this will continue to be a problem for you. The thing about 3D is that it requires cable companies to invest in increasing their delivery bandwidth. This will allow all of the things you want to happen (1080p, zero motion blur, etc.)!

Yeah, hide half of the browser window to the side of your desktop.

EDIT: Oh I can use Adblock to block it? Sweet.

If a paid PSN service is announced, as long as online play is still free, it's all good.
I'm pretty sure the time to announce a premium PSN has passed.
