But nobody wants to buy a brand new $2,000 TV when they just got one last year. And on top of that, a new blu ray player if their old one doesnt support it. Further, apparently the new 3D panasonic TV comes with ONE, only ONE pair of 3D glasses. Good luck having the family over.
Theres still stuff on TV that isnt in HD. Theres still a considerable amount of the population that does watch in HD. Who wants 3D when the amazing race is sitll in SD?
Further, it's too much of a gimmick. I havent seen Avatar, but Ive seen UP and the toy stories (and some other random stuff). The effect is so negligible, why pay more? I can wear glasses for a movie, but I dont want to have to put some on for my TV shows or sporting events.
Also, can someone explain to me why the 3D we're getting now is so bad compared to the 3D that's been used in theme parks for years? I know they rely more on gimmicks, but that shit actually feels like it's popping out of the screen, instead of just adding depth.
And the sony audience is hilarious, theyre like fuck taylor swift

Plasma got good black levels but are bad for Computer Monitor use and have image retention and cause burn ins.
LCDs got bad black levels but are great for everything else. But they have bad motion blur.
LED-LCD are broken to edge and back emitted... They are good...
Also HDTVs have Input lag that was not present with CRTs.
Plus they are expensive for anything good, you'll need to spend about 1000 and more dollars for anything 42 inches or above. That's a lot for a middle class family. *sigh*
HDTVs are great for movies/regular tv/ but gaming its hard to find a good tv with low input lag, except for plasma that have low input lag but there is always the fear of image retention and burn ins.
3D tvs are going to cost a lot more... A 32 inch LED by a respectable brand Sharp, is 1000 dollars. >_> So its going to be even more expensive for everyone. Also not everyone has a HDTV even this age, sad but true.

Sony introduced a whopping 17 new cameras and camcorders today, in the Handycam and Cyber-Shot lines, and as was hinted, they support SD and microSD cards. Even better, the new TransferJet lets you share photos between cameras, wirelessly.
Only certain Sony cameras will support TransferJet, and even then they have to use another goddamn new Sony proprietary MemoryStick format, the TransferJet Memory Stick card. Those wireless Cyber-Shots will be available starting in February and roll out throughout the year.
Realyst said:Besides the Early Adopter Tax, there shouldn't be that much of a premium added to the cost of these new panels. You'll be paying for the HDMI 1.4 input, for the most part, since it has to accept the dual 1080p feeds for 3D.
