Check Out Sony's New PSP Marketing Campaign

They´re being a little extreme with this, I think that a more neutral campaign could work to atract both PSP segments. Right now the PSP brand has nothing in comun with that campaign, AT ALL! In fact it´s so far from PSP image that it seems more like a parody than an actual marketing campaign.

I didn't see threads like this when the DS lite had the commercials had the girls and moms and whatnot playing brain training or dogz or whatever...
There have to be different commercials for different demographics, the world does not revolve around interweb gaming geeks.

Just because you didn't see them doesn't mean they weren't there...

I think that Kratos one is hilarious because he'd probably slice off the head of the marketing genius who came up with "You are SO totally Kratos".

Edit: But I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's photoshopped (okay, I won't lie... I didn't notice it right away).

"Girl'z play PSP too and they all luv the color pink and being princesses"?

Oh status quo, you never fail us.:lol

Edit: Wait is that God of War one a photoshop or legitimate? If legitimate +5 respect points for Sony.

needs more tits, space marines and loli rape girls before it meets Gaf's distinguished masculine pallet.

You know I almost wanna say you are mixing up Gaf with 4chan, but sometimes I can't tell the difference between the two.

First girls can't do math and now they can't play Monster Hunter? They might want to pet the poogie too. After they strip a carcass of a beast to make a pretty pink fur jacket. ;_;

It isn't a bad colour at all. If it was bundled with a more gender-neutral game like Dissidia or Disgaea 2 or God Of War: The Stabbening, I'd probably get one.

The problem is that every PSP Sony sells today, is a PSPgo, they're NOT going to see in a couple of months. I think that maybe, it would have been better to have a Lilac PSPgo, with the games and movies downloaded to the system. I guess its not a big deal since, Sony will be pushing the go and the psp 3000 simultaneously. I like the advertisement, but I'd like to see that expressed in a commercial... a group of PSP playing girls, using the PSP to gossip and play games.... should be nice.

What's with the PSP and advertisements? The launch commercials were cool and then everything went to sucksville.

It might have to do with PR girl Molly Smith's departure. That lady was ahead of the curve when it came to today's videogame advertisements and blockbuster movie-esq marketing. She invented the 'so-and-so game generated more revenue than so-and-so box office movie.'

When did that happen? Things really started going to shit with squirrels.

I am LocoRoco :( I actually think its a pretty good idea for a campaign they just need way more girl games.

It's a shame you already got a tag, because that one will make an awesome tag. "Your are so Patapon princess and you know it" :lol

This is hilarious. When it loaded up i spent a good few minutes laughing before doing the quiz. And i am so totally LocoRoco. Like, totally.

Meh..

Bring back the damn squirrels already. That was such a great marketing campaign.

After watching the Petz game I wonder why there is no Boyz game. I think girls would be into having a virtual boy that they can control all aspects of his life.

Ubisolf get on that!

OK, I laughed. :lol

I can honestly say I've never before seen a girl playing a PSP, owning a PSP or indeed showing any interest in the PSP. Is it just me?

Well how many girl gamers that you know are you basing this assessment on?

Granted every girl I know with a PSP also has a DS that they play way more often.

GAF, I must humbly but with much excitement report to you that I witnessed the sale, just today on my lunch break, of a Hanna Montana purple PSP to none other than a young girl.

She could have possibly been one of these "girlz" but I'm not sure how to identify them yet. I would guess she was probably 10-11 or so, and was confidently directing the sales clerk to the lilac PSPs at the bottom of the case while her mother watched on.

Marketing campaign at work, or simply blind luck on Sony's part? You be the judge.

I too have a Hannah Montana success story.

A little girl I know through my mom was talking to me how she wanted a Hannah Montana game for her birthday. I thought it was just a cheap knockoff game, bu she shows me the OMG GIRLZ advert for the Hannah PSP and I was floored.

Her mum bought it for her...

FML? Or good advertising. U be the judge.
