Okay, updated annual totals for home consoles (1994-2000)
Assuming the 1994 gaps b/w data are the same as 1995:
(This is for you, ioi... so pay attention):

Code:
	1994	1995	1996	1997	1998	1999	2000
NES - 0.36m 0.14m 0.05m
GEN - 3.42m 2.06m 1.27m 0.41m 0.58m 0.32m 0.04m
SNES - 2.75m 2.32m 1.25m 0.83m 0.88m 0.29m 0.01m
JAG - 0.04m 0.02m
3DO - 0.07m 0.08m 0.05m
SAT - 0.29m 0.80m 0.24m 0.05m
PSX - 0.60m 1.99m 5.05m 7.13m 5.84m 3.22m
N64 - 1.97m 4.49m 4.14m 3.54m 2.53m
DC - 1.48m 1.28m

I question the PSX & DC nos. b/c they are lower than the original, hmm.

Well this is what you had originally, quite a change:

Derived from info from this pdf I found: http://www.netinst.org/Clements_Ohashi.pdf
You can tell the annual NPD console sales between 1994 and 2001:

I hope it's not too confusing...

So the SNES was being massively under-reported compared to GEN ;-)

Q: at the end of the lifespan, which console was sold the most? I've allways heard it was a close race between the SNES en Genesis (with the very rivalry-fixated commercials like "nintendon't" making it all the more interesting), but I thought in the end the SNES had sold more.
But when I look at the numbers, it seems to suggest otherwise. :?

SNES sold more in the USA, but not by an enormous amount, something like 20m vs 17m.

Nintendo shipped 23m to NA but we have no idea how many GENs were shipped (at least to NA).
And I'm not so sure SNES sold more in the US, that's what everyone believes but where does that info come from? Is it based on the shipments to NA or U.S. NPD sales? NPD seems to point to Genesis selling more...
Does anyone have reliable annual sales before 1994?

Next month's major release is the highly anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog 3: it was available all four weeks of February. Anyone wanna make a prediction of it's initial sales before I post next month's chart?
