"Classics HD", new brand for PS3 games?

The only problem I have is that it only seems to be first party properties only being used. Only so much that can be used and I really don't want to play the old Jaks and Ratchets again for example (well, I'd replay the lush platformer Jak 1, to hell with the "mature" later titles). That rules out stuff like the much-petitioned Team ICO Collection.

You're right in general, many of the PS2's defining games/series were third party (GTA, DMC, etc). But Team ICO is wholly owned by Japan Studio/SCEJ, so its about as first-party as you can get. One of the reasons why a Team ICO collection is so widely speculated as the next one.

I guess this gen is really that shitty if people keep crying for older games. :/

Sure I replay some favorites as well, but do we really need the HD resolution to enjoy them? Honestly even with the higher resolution it still looks bad compared to current gen.

There is no guess word involved. The Quality of good games has gone down but I think even the shit games are selling because of Achievement whores.

That´s just dumb. Good games are good games, and people want a way to play them on never systems. I don´t care that much about HD resolution, as I do about being able to play them on my PS3.

But somethings were better before. I have zero interest in the Uncharted games, but really liked the Jak games. Naughty Dog is no fun anymore.

X, X-2, and XII international versions on a single disc. I wish I hadn't looked at this thread. There's no way that will happen.

With japanese and english voices and subtitles. They have the space now, no excuses.

Looks like its (POP collection) definitely happening. Its up for pre-order and will be HD and 3D on certain websites.

26th of November release date.

Killzone Collection. Killzone 1 at 60 fps, 2xaa, trophies and MP. Also Liberation ported to the ps3, 60 fps, 4xaa, trophies, and unlockable things for KZ3.

A Siren collection would be amazing, but I doubt it would get a release here. For some reason that series never got any status outside of Japan.

Also, King's Field collection? It would be cool if Classics HD would go as far as remastering PS1 games.. although that might need a bit too much asset rebuilding. I would be happy with just King's Field V.

That kinda deserves it's own thread.

i thought there was already a thread for what everyone wants to see redone in HD for PS3.

at least we know these are coming out at a steady pace though. wish we had some users here that actually work on these ports so we could get an idea of how quickly they're done and how cheap it is. (has to be if sony is moving forward with it)

If I had thread making rights here you go:

British Retailers: *********** has listed Sands of Time Trilogy in HD with 3D Support for November 26th release under the PS3's Classic line up. :)

Prince of Persia Trilogy HD (3D)

Ubisoft have finally put together the 3 Prince of Persia games in one low priced package. All 3 games have been consistently excellent in terms of gameplay, and each instalment has brought something new to the franchise.

The Sands of Time is generally considered to be the finest of the three, and although gameplay can at times become repetitive and tedious, still enables gamers to experience a fun, if somewhat forgiving, challenge. Graphically The Sands of Time is now beginning to look dated when compared to some of the new next generation games, however the attention to detail is excellent, and presents the Prince in a very storybook setting. The controls are excellent, being both responsive and instinctive - the Prince's agile moves can be linked together effortlessly, to produce some very impressive results. Unfortunately the game is relatively short and being generally linear, and it is very difficult to become lost in the vast palace.

Warrior Within is a much lengthier affair, and the simple button bashing combat system has now been replaced with a more drawn out 'Free-Form' combo mechanics. This allows much more variety - and even allows different types of combat depending on what weapons the Prince is wielding at the time. It is evident much more focus was placed on combat this time around, and in turn makes Warrior Within much bloody than its predecessor. Despite this, the game's strong point remains the excellent way you have to navigate the intelligent puzzels and well designed levels using the Prince's Spiderman-like moves.

The trilogy is completed with The Two Thrones, which includes an added twist of playing as both the Prince and his darker alter-ego. This change is much more than simply cosmetic, as the two characters must rely on vastly different styles to navigate the game. Graphically The Two Thrones is by far the better of the three, and even includes frantic chariot races, however these actually proves to be one of the game's downsides, as at times they can become very much trial and error. Fortunately The Two Thrones still includes heaps of traps to negotiate and puzzles to solve, and like Warrior Within, provides a lengthily challenge.

I'd kill for the International version of Final Fantasy XII with this treatment. Slap FFX on there for good measure too.

I kind of hope Square-Enix doesn't see this, but I'd totally pay 60 bucks for HD International Zodiac edition Final Fantasy XII.

Am I the only one who wants a Xenosaga collection.
Xenosaga is one of my favourite RPG series on the PS2. I'd buy that at a high price.

Never will happen though

Edit: I'd take a Drakengard Collection :D
