Cloud Reveal in Smash Bros Reactions

I mostly don't watch reaction stuff, but that Max is way too funny. His confusion was similar to mine when I recognised the FF VII music. Although that lasts for 10 seconds and afterwards I slowly tell myself "they're actually putting Cloud in Smash. The internet will lose their collective shit"

Max being the best example lol

Guys im a fraud final fantasy fan . I didn't recognize the music until 3 nanoseconds into the trailer ! I'm disappointed in myself and will go commit sudoku .

Max' reaction was awesome. The GameTrailers one was great too. Does anyone have a link to the full Direct reaction video from GT instead of the last 30 mins?

I genuinely believe that people who react like this are the reason why gaming is in such a poor overall state these days.

Developers are getting away with boring open worlds packed with filler junk and publishers are getting away with paid DLC plans rotten to the core because people can't control themselves and buy into their nostalgic hype.

How is Sakurai's DLC plan "rotten to the core"?

Edit: To elaborate, DLC is done to add content to an already finished game, by all means Smash 4 was a complete $60 game when it launched, and the extra content just made it better.

I'm not talking about Smash specifically in this scenario. It's indicative of a larger problem. The people reacting like this are perpetuating hype that marketing and PR teams spend weeks or even months crafting. It's too easy. It's a natural extension of the forum posters who go around memeing "shut up and take my money" and "all over my face." It's the same people who see a trailer for a new Sonic game and think "surely THIS will be a good one."

I can't believe how easy it is to please/fool some people.

If you're not talking about Smash specifically why post it in this thread? Of course if you post it in this thread then it has relevance and CLOUD in Smash Bros. can warrant any degree of reaction and I'd believe it. I reacted similarly and so did many other people and that's why i believe it. Cloud is in Smash Bros.

Someone mentioned how Etika goes crazy just because the Smash logo appears. So do I. I've been watching a Direct for 30 minutes and it's what I'm looking forward to most. Some of us just care about things. If Bomberman gets in I'd react twice as much as any of these videos did. It's not fooling me, this is what I want to spend my hard earned money on. It's my biggest and probably only hobby that matters. I hardly even buy games anymore and save a lot of money, so when very specific things get revealed that actually matter to me I'm happy.

I've never cared or watched any reaction videos until this last E3.
My reaction to video game announcements are pretty much the same as Jeff Gertsmann at E3.
But for some reason, I like watching the younger generation lose their shit when unexpected games/characters are announced. Reminds me of why I still like gaming.

Man, this is a stupid notion.

And even then half the audio is missing. How could they be so unprepared? We had two days notice.

Yeah, the direct happened during their scheduled GT TIME.

If they were the only ones in the building they could have setup audio in the other room before they started streaming. But you never know who is using what at what time so putting it together last minute probably couldn't be helped. Especially since they can no longer use the GT TIME studio/room for streams other than for GT TIME and GT LIVE.

Hey people, don't get hyped for that iconic character you love.
You're just becoming another puppet for the MAN to control, which is probably a good thing since you couldn't control yourself when you heard the news.

Stop being so passionate.

Gaming is better than it has ever been.
For fighting game fans.

i'm loving the over reacting to cloud and then the chocobo hats come on screen and everyones sudden buzz just goes

"oh chocobo hats"

Cloud has been so whored out through the FF7 spinoffs, movies and KH games that I really don't care about his appearance in anything. His character has evolved from something completely different from the FF7 persona. Add in the fact that I personally don't know anyone who has cared about the last two Smash games for more than a week post-launch, and this is yawn inducing.

What does any of that have to do with nostalgia?

If you haven't noticed by now...

Nintendo'sDLC (Kart, Splatoon and Smash) ≠ greedy Publisher DLC

It's funny that I agree on the first part. The fact that he's been in so many spinoffs and crossovers already is the main reason I see why they went with him, even though I wish they could've gone with someone more associated with Nintendo.

I love max's reaction when he hears the FF7 Opening theme/Bombing Mission start up. I a similar reaction.
Also someone needs to make a gif of max's face from 2:51 - 2:53. So much future potential there.

lmao did you just pull Cloud's announcement on that kotaku thread for no reason, complete with poor analogy that even pulling godwin's law would make people raise an eyebrow? why are you holding a grudge against this reveal? Do you have something against people getting curious and interested in a video game?

I don't imagine Nintendo fans have to imagine that. They saw it in real time when Final Fantasy went to the PS1 18 years ago.

Well guess we're good now that he has decided to hang out and fight with the Mario gang and not some sony cat gangs

I've gotten excited for plenty of things I never owned or even intended on purchasing, but a new character in a Smash Bros game? That's pretty tame and I can't imagine why it's so exciting. Lol

Not at my computer at the moment but naira has his reaction video and it is amazing, him and this other guy are holding each other in pure joy
